The U.S. Secret Service is investigating... '70s rock star Ted Nugent for his recent insistence he'll be "dead or in jail" in a year's time if President Barack Obama is re-elected in November.

...the longtime gun advocate compared Obama and the Democrats to a coyote who should be shot. "... If the coyote's in your living room pissing on your couch, it's not the coyote's fault. It's your fault for not shooting him."

No I didn't consider his rant to be a threat. In fact his claim that if the President is reelected he would most likely be in jail or dead to not be an unreasonable belief. The of President has shown nothing but contempt for the Constitution so I isn't much stretch to believe he would jail those that disagree with him.

If Nugent's 'rant' is considered a threat, then the entire DNC should be arraigned for threats to Conservatives throughout the years!

Like that's ever going to happen.

That being said, there is NO excuse for EVER threatening the life of a sitting president (or a past president for that matter).

Doing so sinks us to a level below that of our enemies.

We're better than that!

Hmmm, how would a Progressive answer this question if someone from their side had made similar comments about former President Bush? How did they? Let me try, "C'mon, Nugent was merely expressing himself with the use of a metaphor substituting 'shooting' for 'electing'. Voters who elected Obama have no one to blame but themselves and it will again be their fault - as well as non-progressives failing to unite - if he's not unseated in November. Surely, that makes more sense than actually publicly calling for taking a shot at him."

So, please, unseat him...but be gentle; it only takes the pull of a lever, check in the box, or a punch out - just talking a ballot, nothing physically threatening.

I don't think this should be construed as a threat (if it was, the ACLU would defend his words behind the 1st amendment, believe it or not). This is just a gun nut with several loose screws ranting like a moron and making conservatives look bad. No one will take him seriously.

Maybe Nugent is referring to Obumer's power with marshall law and what he will do with it when/if reelected. Obumer will start his dicatorship and we all know what can happen under that type of law. It could mean "OFF With their Heads""
