Sarah Palin has killed wolves from a plane. She loves shooting animals. Hunting may not be wrong or unethical, but she seems to take a strong stand against anyone who loves and wants to protect animals. Is she just an animal hater?

People who kill animals for sport not for food are animal murderers. Suppose those like myself who eat dead animals are accomplices to animal murder. I just don't understand people who enjoy taking an animal's life for FUN. Can't they find another hobby?

Really? People who want to take a strong stance and protect animals should protest all the unnecessary building that goes on. Where I live it's nothing but for sale signs and the builders are still building, if something is not done these animals will starve to death, I guess that's what people mean about mother nature taking her course!

I don't know. The cultural views on killing animals of the wild seem to change as new laws are legislated to accomodate the progressing changes of man's living environments as people move into different areas to live. It seem to be an old custom of man's way of thinking to kill off animals of the wild, as man has been killing off the Buffalo, Elephant, Wales and etc, etc, etc. for many years, that Governor S. Palin has choosen to follow. Her choice to kill animals according to the legislated laws of American citizen's right to hunt maybe protected under the ruling law of the land that we the general public support in our own way of doing or not doing things. Does the hunting laws support Governor Sarah Palin's way of hunting wolves?

Maybe that's the way she grew up, but to allow people to shoot wolves and black bears from helicopters and small planes is deplorable. And WTF is this - thining out the wolves to keep the Caribou in great abundance. I don't think anyone in Alaska would starve to death if there were less Caribou.. Looks to me as though more people enjoy taking the antlers and displaying them on the front of their homes.

If it really was absolutely necessary to thin out the wolves, there are more humane ways than to shoot them in a sportsman manner (or even the mean manner as shown in the film shows the people of Alaska chasing down and shooting the poor wolves in the rear, letting them squeal and slowly die). Not only does she allow this practice, but she rewards it by paying people for bringing in the font paw of the wolves. SICK (I WOULD REFER EVERYONE TO WATCH PAT'S VIDEO BELOW).

I've always felt you can tell a lot about a person's character by the way they treat animals, or animals view them. If a person comes to my house and is unfriendly to my dog, or my dog instantly dislikes them, I know they will never be a friend to me. Animals can pick up on people's hate of them and respond accordingly.

(And this is taking it a bit far, but remember that most serial killers enjoyed killing small animals when they were young, just for the joy of killing)..

Oh, and I just remembered last year they showed a photo op Palin had made at a turkey slaughter house. She personally killed two turkeys. I almost puked at the way they did it. I didn't eat turkey last Thanksgiving.

I do not feel Sarah Palin is an animal hater. i am saying this because I feel this is a fair statement.
I am not a fan of Palin, having voted against McCain-Palin in the election. I mainly didn't want her to be Vice President because I did not feel she was educated enough for the job. That is putting it mildly, at times i was also quite alarmed a the hate she seemed to be able to stir up in the crowds.
All that doesn't mean she can just be randomly bashed, I feel. She is a fairly hard working woman, a mother, a grandmother.
People who live in the country deal with animals more, as we all know. My own grandmother had a cow and her calf she loved, but when it came time to butcher them she did. She did it herself. My Dad had to get rid of excess cats and so on, running on the farm. Not a nice job for a young boy but in those days everybody killed something.
Farmers and ranchers and all country folk will kill all manner of animals that prey upon their own domestic animals, or who pose a danger to them. While I did not like the wolf-shooting scenes at all, I do not feel it is fair to call her an "animal hater." Those who feel she is, I can understand where you are coming from, PETA and so on, and that is understandable too.

"Thinks" being the operative word here. Why is it OK for animals to be "thinned out" but the human population can keep on pro-creating in the eyes of the pro-life crowd as we consume everything in our path but rtn almost nothing? When an animal hunts, it is doing it to survive and living in WI, where hunting is very popular, these people do it for sport. No one NEEDS to eat venison and personally I don't even like it but they do it because they WANT to. Is this saying I hate hunting? No, but IMO, it is no longer a need to survive and every person I've met who does it, is because they ENJOY it.
Animals are encroaching on certain areas as more and more of their habitat is wiped out by humans so they have nowhere to go anymore. You don't want wolves in your yard, live in a city, simple as that. The entire area where I lived when I was in H.S., used to be farmer's fields and now it all sub-divisions, strip malls and gas stations. My old H.S. is now another middle-school as a new one had to be built due to over-crowding. Too many people but animals need to be "controlled".Go figure! Why can't "wild places" just remain "wild" anymore? They need homes too!! When we can't share our earth with ALL of God's creatures fairly, THAT is a problem. Sorry, but that is MY opinion.

Good point made, nonetrheless, wild places will not remain wild as long as man build homes in wet lands, swamps, and on the side of mountains. I am not a modern thinking man, so I don't seem to understand why it takes so much to live on the Creator's planet earth, which we share with other life forms.

If you have never hunted or lived in country then there is no way for you to understand. Animals in some areas get out of control and have to be hunted to keep a balance in nature. You need to check your facts, I believe she hasn't hunted from a plane (was flown into an area to hunt) and she said she enjoys hunting (shooting animals sounds like she'ld kill pets).

I know! Seriously I live in Georgia and we are getting over populated by deer...they don't have many predators here so we have to have hunters.
I don't know about other people but I don't want anymore deers hitting my poor sister's and other people's cars on a daily basis.

We have problem with hogs & deer in my area. Until someone sees the damage done by hog or what either can do to a car/truck, they'll just keep calling anyone who hunts "murder".

Nature has a way of balancing itself out, if man does not interfere. Unfortunately, we have by overbuilding and taking away their land and food sources. We need to leave some space for the animals and quit taking up so much for ourselves.

Thinning them is important because there are too many in ANWR preserve now and many will starve this fall because the vegetation is not enough in the tundra to sustain so many. All you guys say we can't drill up there because it would hurt the environment and the caribou, also are the ones that would rather thousands starve ...

It's annoying to read these opinions by the ill informed, because some of these things are voted on by people in the lower 48, who have no clue and impose their views on us. We've had the pipeline over 20 years and no animals have suffered, so show me how drilling ANWR would injure caribou. You all would be more pleased if hundreds died from lack of food. Not culling kills more animals, and spreads disease.......but stupid solutions is the liberal way.

The slanted question and the slanted answer choices showed me the tone of the questioners thoughts, which revealed that they are a liberal trying to do a little Sarah bashing. The questioner is a liberal, it shows in the whole question, or it would be more balanced in the writing of the question and the choices allowed to respond. This sort of thing has been on SH many times, they are easy to spot by now. The whole first paragraph was to the person doing the poll.
