In response to Rush Limbaugh calling law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" for supporting mandated insurance coverage of contraceptives, Susan McMillan Emry, a 56-year-old mother of two, founded "Rock the Slut Vote." The tongue-in-cheek campaign proposes to reclaim the word from derogatory use, as well as to generate awareness with shock value.
Emry told ABC News, "It's really about taking the power away from that word more than it is about Rush Limbaugh. He gave the word the notoriety but we are trying to take it back." She also wrote in a blog post, "By reclaiming the most hurtful, shaming words, groups rise up, unite and fight against intimidation and injustice." Do you think the "Rock the Slut Vote" campaign will be effective? Will it be able to take the word back?

+25God knows there are enough sluts in the United States. Say what you want about the Muslims, they do have a point about the immorality in the West.
I mean slut is someone who enjoys sex

Sometimes words mean different things based on belief systems, perspectives etc.
for example I'm always a bit shocked when someone calls me a Socialist as an insult, or a feminist or a Marxist these are things that I see as positives
I see slut as a neutral idea like saying clubber or surfer it just describes a person who enjoys an activity and does it regularly
However to me Capitalist, religious, lady, and masculine are negatives that describes people I do not respect
and if Feminist is negatively viewed by society then I have I certainly do not have enough respect for it to value it's opinion
Society once viewed blacks a property did that opinion mean more than those peoples humanity?
But on the girl who said she spends $3000 a MONTH on contraception. What does she use exactly? I'm on the pill and a box lasts me 4 months, and it costs $24 a box. Granted, it's not the most expensive pill out there, but it does the job so I don't really care. I fail to see how having safe sex can add up $3000 a month. Mind blowing.
Oh and I'm for universal health care, but I believe that on certain things, like birth control, people should pay for that themselves. Or if it costs a rather large amount per month then the person shouldn't be covered with contraceptives. Use that money to tend to people who are really sick.
I know too many people labeled sluts for such idiotic reasons, and they are all women or gay men (Believe it or not, gay men are often called sluts while straight men are called players). It's as if, sleeping with men makes you a slut, sleeping with women makes you a player. It's not fair for men or women, double standards never are. It also makes men appear superficial and easy, as if they have no self control. While it makes women feel guilty and ashamed to have slept with men.
It's really ridiculous.
Fluke is a slut by her own admission.
$3K for contraceptives during her college years?
Even if you double the price at the local Rite Aid you would have to be getting laid 4 times per day to use close to that much.

If it went any faster, The People would notice & might actually do something about it.
But in the last twelve years, we've lost enough constitutional protections to make us, The People, almost powerless to do anything about an overly corrupt government.
I find our loss of liberties going quite quickly.
Sandra Fluke talks about how it costs her $3000 a MONTH for contraceptives, and liberals say she's an "independent young woman"... but when they talk about Sarah Palin, she's a slut. The double standard is ATROCIOUS!
