Is Rahm Emanuel Bucking Democrats again over Unions?

This is Rahm giving Obama a big FU for making him leave the WH.
This is Rahm doing what is right for Chicago, just like Scott Walker in WI.

As Mayor Rahm Emanuel faces a deepening standoff with the Chicago Teachers Union this summer, allies and political messengers close to him have once again emerged to take a tactical fight public on his behalf.

In the days leading up to this month's overwhelming vote by the union to authorize a strike if negotiations over a new contract fail, radio listeners around Chicago heard ads urging parents to contact teachers so they would "do right by the kids." Since the vote, similar ads are airing that criticize union leaders.

So after Rahm Emanuel Left the White House under what most think are questionable circumstances ( He and Moochelle all but came to blows) that left him no choice but to pursue and win the prefectly timed Chicago Mayoral race that he handily won, is now bucking the Democratic stance of standing wit Unions.

He is now the Democratic version of Scott Walker (WI. gov. who won his recall election by a big margin over union policies) by taking on the Chicago Teachers Unions.

This suggests one of 2 things.

Either this is payback and a big FU to Obama and his union backing for forcing him to leave the White House or He is doing what is right for the City of Chicago.

I personally think it's the big FU since chances are he will remain Mayor of Chicago for a long time.

What are your thoughts?

Could be a bit of both, but mainly doing what is politically expedient. He needs to get reelected and I'm sure he's doing what he thinks will help him most in that regard.

It's sure fun to see him go against party lines. I'll bet Obie is really pissed over this one.

I think reality is trumping idealism in this case.

Chicago is in crappy financial shape. When the reality is you have to cut or go farther in the red, you scrap the idealism.

I wish Obummer had the same ideology for America. But he's doing his best to make the US Emerika!

There's a great deal of mystery as to why Daley would leave a Mayor for Life position in Chicago. Now Daley is out in DC and Rahm is running interference with unions. And this is bigger than Obama wants to admit because if Rahm ticks off the unions they will stay home on Election Day because they consider Rahm to be a pipeline to Obama. And they believe they will get whatever they want.Chicago is SUCH A POLITICAL MESS.

I personally think he's pissed at Obie and Moochelle and sticking it to them by going against the Democratic union support message.

Yet another Democrat going against Her Obama's message. Watch for many more to come.
