Nearly four years after enthusiastic younger voters poured into polling booths to help push Barack Obama over the finish line and into the Oval Office, their hope has turned to fear and pollster John Zogby says that they are ready to give up on politics.

“I truly am worried about today's twenty-somethings,” he frets. “They are our global generation and I have seen them move from hope and grand expectations for themselves and their world to anxiety and disillusionment. We can't afford to lose them,” he adds.

Zogby previewed his remarks to the League of Women Voters 50th anniversary convention Monday night with Secrets. His worry: that younger voters will stop voting.

He is calling on the League of Women Voters to help stop that trend by engaging younger voters, especially women. “You are needed more than ever,” he says of the group. “I see from your mission that you 'encourage' and I think we all need to move into crisis mode and use the word 'engage'. Especially young women.”

A fan of youth-friendly social media, Zogby suggests a game plan to target first-time voters. “They should receive a voter registration form with their high school diploma or GED certificate. You need to build up your Twitter and Facebook friendship list.”

While an old institution, Zogby says that the League can still inspire. “I know the demographics of LWV -- no different from those of so many organizations. And I know that your core of activists in communities is dwindling or remaining static. There are new ways to engage people -- and new topics. Young people care about new democracies and women entrepreneurs. Your website and information has to be a source of this vital and inspiring information,” he says.

Despite growing apathy, he adds that younger Americans “want to be involved in their world, they want to help others progress while they post the kind of experience that will help them move to their next project in the gig economy. LWV doesn't need a new vision or a new MO, it needs to adjust the way it engages young people on their own turf."

First off; the notion that President Obama's entire self worth is dependent on this reelection is laughable. If he had to give it up tomorrow, he'd still be a millionaire and a loving familiy.

Next the GOP narrative will die under it's own weight. This president makes the most effective use of new technologies for campaigning in history. Romney and the rest of the GOP could wish they could keep up as they try to match the Obama camaign's every tit for tat.

In short, the GOP and Romney are totally reactionary and not out front leading. The follower has a high percentage of losing any contest. The GOP is kneejerk reacting stalling any initiative that the President comes up with by simply attempting to block anything they think will make him 'look good'. The kids will see who's driving the train.

The lesson of Wisconsin are probably lost on the GOP and right wingers. The lesson is as follows:

- Walker managed to hang onto a probable only term which he will not be reelected.
-Dems are energized to raise more money, nobody raises more money than Obama from the 'grass roots'. There may be lots of Billionaires but not 160million of them.
- Walker won by a few points; not in a referendum that signals a clear mandate to the national level
- The dems will get better at picking their fights - they will pursue illegal and constitutionally unfair policies. Not political disagreements.
- the unions will be like the Repubs discovering Romney is their man whether they fully embrace him or not. Unions will get in line behind the Dem nominee because they have no where else to go. GOP is management, Dem is labor. It's way premature to predict unions will desert dem leadership.
- Union members, public and private have buyers remorse and traditionally conservative groups like police and firemen have had their eyes opened.
- Finally, Romney will be the emperor will no clothes. His solution to everything is let the middle class suffer even worse then blame Obama. Sounds like his solution for the auto industry.

People are looking for who's in their corner and it ain't the GOP. Who will emerge postively with the younger voters? The guy who is urging Congress to not raise rates on college tuition or the millionaire who said borrow the money from your laid-off parents to pay for school. The dems are moving forward will seeking out the best of America while the GOP is tapping into a post WWII nostalgic solution that does not realize that American jobs futures no longer stand alone but competes on a global level.

Many of those jobs are simply going away. It's not Obama who invented digital photography - tell that to Kodak and all its laid off workers. Tell the newspaper industry that the internet has made them slow and redundant - that is equally not Obama's doing. Ask Romney how his plan to rehabilitate and retrain workers is working with Obama's proposals and he has no plan.

Even the auto industry leapt a generation since 2008 and their methods of manufacturing requires fewer people. Romney was prepared to watch it go belly-up. But those job, too are not coming back.

Other businesses will die. The CD and video tape manufacturers are out of date already. What happens to those jobs? Cuz, they're leaving. It's fine to 'blame' Obama but those are the cold hard facts that don't get better with leading the charge to give himself and closest millionaire friends another tax cut and then proclaim that on 'day one', already distressed families who just got help with healthcare are going to lose it

It's popular to say socialism fails - in fact it doesn't. Socialism is often confused with Communism. Socialism is an economic concept. Communism is a political concept. The following countries are successful socialist countries:

Germany - the deepest pockets and singlehandedly keeping Europe alive
France
Sweden
Norway
Denmark

No one is advocating a 'nanny state' here. You do hear about Spain, Greece and Italy but all of those countries have 2 qualities we got rid of a long time ago; they don't and never had, effective bank regulation and they remove people at too young an age from active working rolls which decreases their revenue to fund and receive their equivalent of Soc. Sec. By 1931 we began to address the issues that Europe is seeing now and they've had a rebuild after they had WWI with our help. They didn't learn and now they're paying for it.

We DON'T want to follow the failed parts of the European model especially austerity where a reduction of commerce thru an inactive and innovativeless business model does not create jobs. But wringing our hands about not trying anything but keep rich folks rich is not the answer.

I have no desire to deviate from a capitalist model based on democracy so everyone has a fair shot. The problem with it (and every system has one) is that it automatically sets up a cyclic pattern of supply and demand. When they're in synch, it's great - when they're not, people lose jobs it's not a 'great' system, then... Ask the folks at Best Buy, if they're around by this time next year, I'll be surprised.

What's dangerous is the global economy linked electronically being affected in real time - hence why a new, report of any parliment or dictator scratching his balls that day affects markets even before your morning coffee

It has just been seventeen years since the development of the European Union and it apparently has taken this short time to show Europe, America and all the world the Socialism does NOT work. The exact type of government that Obama is trying to force down the throats of the American people has been tried and tried again, and every time the result is the same – total financial failure and economic collapse. Is this what you want to have happen to YOUR America?

The European Union idea that one could bring first, second and third world countries together and make them all financially equal has proven to be a failure. It has actually had the opposite effect on all of Europe, creating a further chasm between those that have and those that do not. Yet this is the course that our government is taking us all down – and the media is NOT doing their job – they are NOT reporting what is really going on – this is very sad indeed.

The European Union developed their own currency, the Euro, in order to fund their massive entitlement programs. These programs were designed to keep the people “in check” – to control them, to satisfy all their basic needs – the thinking is that this will keep those in power IN power. Again a very sad and bleak reality.

Yet now it is time to pay the piper, government debt levels are exploding, there is no economic growth, unemployment keeps rising and government revenues keep shrinking. Sound familiar?

Look at the countries of Greece, Italy, Portugal, Ireland and Spain – they have all participated in the European Union and they are now all bankrupt. In addition, they have civil unrest because of these ridiculous, pie in the sky policies that promise to “take care” of the people’s needs – while all they really do is DISCOURAGE work and productivity! Is this the America YOU want to live in? Is this the America you want to leave to YOUR children?

Unfortunately, it is exactly this type of Socialism that Obama is trying to force on the hard working tax payers. It is this exact type of Socialism that speaks of the REDISTRIBUTION of wealth.

Socialism involves the government expanding its power and its control over the people – they do this by offering to pay for the services of the people ie., housing, food, legal care, heat, electricity, health care, child care and many more “goodies” that are all designed to get the people dependent on the government for all of their needs – just as they have done in the European Union – the same type of government that had the people of Greece setting fires in the streets and destroying buildings.

Under Obama’s vision of Socialism, the Federal government has taken over the banking system with huge bailouts, the insurance industry with huge bailouts, the mortgage industry with Fannie and Freddie owning 80% of all the mortgages in America, the Automotive industry by owning GM and Chrysler with huge bailouts and they now have their eyes on the oil industry and it will continue from there.

They are additionally talking about regulating the internet, regulating the radio waves, regulating Wall Street (which needs to be done, just NOT in Obama’s way), regulating the entire financial industry and regulating all of manufacturing through a Value Added Tax (which will cause massive inflation) – you haven’t seen anything yet with this Obama guy – mark my words.

So, what is the driving force behind all of these government take overs and entitlement programs? What is it that these government slime rely on more than anything to make their pathetic policies work? It is the tax payer.

It is us, you and me, the taxpayer, that the government gets its money to spend as they do. Therefore, very near in the future Obama will begin instituting more taxes – even considering the VAT. How does one think the EU was able to pay for all their “benefits” to those participating without HIGH taxes – 50% PLUS!

Same thing right now in Canada – they have Universal health care – but also have 50% PLUS taxes – .50 cents of every dollar you make goes to the government? No thanks! I’ll spend my money how I want to – I can spend my money better than the government can spend my money! Who spends your money better, you or Obama? Do you want 50%+ taxes? This isn’t Europe – please Obama take your trash policies to a different country – not here!

We can all see the terrible failure that Socialism is in Europe – therefore we must all pull together as American citizens and use the great process that was left to us by our founders – the process of voting. Come November in both 2010 and 2012 – we MUST rise up together as Americans for the Constitution and vote these bums out of office.

Vote OUT those who voted FOR the trillion dollar, unfunded Health care bill that was just a corrupt, hidden power grab. In addition, vote out those who voted for all the bailouts – all of these people obviously have no idea how Capitalism works and have the opposite view of REAL American entrepreneurs/citizens of how the American economy should operate.

“We the People” must vote OUT those who would vote YES for Amnesty for illegal immigrants – how is that standing for the taxpayers? “We the People” must vote OUT all those who do not follow the Constitution – they swore to uphold the Constitution when they were voted in NOW we must hold them to that promise!

“We the People” are the ones that make this country move forward – and we are the ones who are going to TAKE BACK our country from the Socialist terrorists who are now seated in our White House.

Socialism is all about taking the money from who currently has it and REDISTRIBUTING it throughout the world or throughout America – to those who do NOT have it. America’s wealth will be “redistributed” in the form of higher taxes on the wealthy, higher taxes on the business owners and delivered to the new beneficiaries in the form of more entitlement programs for the poor – paying for their health care, housing, food and legal representation.

So what to do. “We the People” have the Constitution of the United States on our side. There may be the Bilderbergs, the G20, the Federal Reserve and now Obama – but we are the American people and we are a special people – all born into a divinely inspired country based on the peaceful, respectful and intellectual teachings of God.

“We the People”, through the Constitution and all this great country stands for, will rise together and vote out of office those that are trying to push Socialism down our throats. We owe this act to all those who have fought for and died for our freedoms in wars past and present.
