The Smithsonian has a gift shop - and in it, nearly all the items for sale are made in China. Rep. Bernie Sanders became aware of this and is got it changed.
In addition, is it un-American for consumers to purchase items made in China? There are still some things made in America:

Seems like this would contribute to the American economy more than buying goods whose profit goes to paying for the support of Communism.
