Is Obamatology a cult?

Gracie - Proud Conservative 2012/09/20 21:45:56
It has been shown that people who don't believe in God will replace Him with something and they will worship something or some cause. Does Obama have a following, much like a cult? What would they be willing to give up for him and how far would they go to please him? Is anything sacred, such as the American flag?

There is absolutely no question that Obama desires to be a cult leader. He is very narcissistic so cult worship fills a void in his life. Further he requires a cult following who will simply trust him rather than analyze his actions; anyone who does the latter can see that he is a populist (i.e., a dictator) and will abandon him.

I notice you mentioned the American flag. Is Obama seriously thinking about adding his image to it?

I heard she was under Obamacare and it wasn't that they didn't want to help her, it was just that it wasn't her turn yet. Scientology is not a religion, it is a cult. There is a difference and you pointed out the obvious. I can't remember the last time I went to church and they wouldn't let me go home. And, I've even been to a Mormon church, they let me walk right out of there! Their missionaries haven't even broken into my home and taken me hostage!

Well, duh! Not big on jokes, huh? No, you're right, I've never been dragged into a polygamist compound, nor will I probably ever be. I have belonged to a couple of different religions and they were not cults. Do you belong to the Obama cult?

Yes, there are many kool aid drinkers in the 0bama supporters, who deny anything
is wrong with his leadership and the will sacrifice anything to continue to support
him...........even our country's welfare. Of course they don't see it this way because
    they drink the koolaid.

Barack Obama is a media created celebrity. Hell, the only reason that Arnold Schwarzenegger is not POTUS is because his parents did not have the good sense to born him here - or atleast come up with a phony birth certificate.

Yes, it would seem so. The national anthem of the USSR, 'The International' was probably sang a lot around the supper table. gives one a cold feeling in the gut thinking of such a thing happening.

People who stand in the middle of the road get run over...I think it means that they lack a solid foundation that defines their values and morals. What I'm trying to say is, I can't imagine being wishy-washy and undefined.

There's a difference in between undefined.. and defined by their own thinking, not influenced by the cult/sheep pyschology that people tend to fall into.

Those who deliberately stay to the middle because they recognize the evils of fanaticism, (which is evident in BOTH sides, don't kid yourself), and refuse to fall prey to it.

Those who are undecided because they can't make a decision are right at the transition in between a camp follower, or a smart voter. What they need is to know that they don't HAVE to take someone else's direction, and be willing to investigate on their own.

Those who take the easy road and tells the GOP/DNC "Just tell me how to vote" are doing no one any favors.

You make the assumption that we believe what we're told to believe, at least that's what it sounds like you're saying. What if that's not true at all and I believe the way I do after extensive reading and study? According to your definition of fanaticism, our Founders would fall into that category.

How do you decide if a political policy is just? Is it based on your "feelings" about it or do you have a set of basic values? It's been my experience that people in the middle seem to go on impulse at the moment instead of research and looking at the long term affects.

For example, I'm not a Republican...I'm a Conservative. Most Conservatives are Republicans but not all Republicans are Conservatives. Just because someone has a R by their name does not mean that I follow or even agree with them. There are Progressives in both parties and I fundamentally disagree with their philosophy of a Constitution that is constantly redefined.

BTW, the left has gone so far left that you might see a real Conservative as far right when in the past, we were just ordinary Americans and I believe that point by point most Americans agree with me far more than the President.

I never said one side was right and the other was wrong. What I consider wrong is going to either direction strictly because of being told to do so, because it's tradition, because of whatever reason OTHER THAN having done the research and figuring which of them best stands for that persons individual values.

And I say best stands, because even though I and Obama would disagree on some points, gun control for one... I agree even less with Romney for multiple factors.

Truthfully.. I would love to see our two party system replaced by a non-party based system.. and in theory, it is not... in practice? Yea.. . look at all the elected leaders. What percentage of them are NOT democrat or republican? That has to change.

Yes, some things I have said before, and even within this post, will piss people off. So be it.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

    I don't believe in God, and I'm a Republican.

Obama doesn't have a cult per se-- he has a political party that people adhere to-- just like the Republicans will (mostly) go for Romney, simply because he IS a Republican.

No, it goes far beyond them supporting him because he's a Democrat. This isn't rational politicization, it's a personal worship. They make personal proclamations to him personally...they have children singing songs...they put his image and logo on everything. When in the past have you seen pictures of a President on everything considered cool?
