Is Obama's 2008 Campaign Slogan of 'Hope and Change' Still Real or Is It Laughable?

There are ugly ads and dirty politics on both sides this year for the 2012 presidential election. Obama Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter has been accused of lying of her knowledge of the the latest attack ad's contents.

In case you missed it, there was an Obama Super PAC ad trying to link Romney to a woman's death from cancer because he ran a business that needed to close a factory. A man lost his health insurance and his wife died because they could not afford the treatment. Hanging that on Mitt Romney is a horrific claim. Even Democrats agree. In fact, it seems like the lowest form of dirty politics we have seen in recent memory.

I would expect this sort of thing from most politicians but it was coming from the guy whose 2008 campaign slogan was "Hope and Change." Maybe he meant "I hope not to change anything in Washington" -- because that's what it looking like. Do you still believe that Obama is trying to change the culture of Washington in a positive way or is it more business as usual?

FOXNEWS.COM reports:
Mitt Romney asked Thursday where all the hope and change has gone, as President Obama's supporters pressed ahead with plans to air a misleading TV ad and a top campaign aide was accused of lying about her knowledge of its contents.

Well, it surely wasn't real in terms of the kind of "change" this country needed to see, but it's actually not too funny in terms of laughable, really. His new "forward" slogan is a veiled or not so veiled reference to the totalitarian socialism Obama seeks for this country. He's come a long way toward socialism, primarily with that health care law no one has read in its entirety, including the legislators who voted for it! We are bordering on a police state since Obama signed Executve Orders giving him control of the Internet, energy sources, food, water, all communications, and the elections. He can suspend the elections with no possibility of intervention by Congress by his order. The military can be authorized by him to arrest and hold any citizen without just cause, in violation of Habeas Corpus. These are changes that are not laughable. But there's been no REAL solution to the crushing problems facing this country. I would vote for Romney if his running mate were Count Dracula! We desperately need change!

Change has been through his term. Probably not as much change as he would have liked because of all the gridlock.

Only thing Obama has accomplished is to devide this Country. He has made a laughing stock out of our Constitution and turned the Statue of LIberty into a socialist Witch.

That's HorseS**t. If those candyA** teabaggers in the Senate were made to actually get off their ass and filibuster instead of just threatening it, your statement would have some truth.

Your unintelligent answer will not distract from the facts. It is the Democrats in the Senate that saved Obama's ass over and over again. However, just like Obama they are on borrowed time. The clock is ticking and will expire soon. Obama out of office in January 2013 followed by Impeachment February 2013.

I am not ignorant, sir. Apparently on this site, you are not ignorant means being angry with politicians for being human. You are not ignorant if you have no hope for those that are working for you. I'm sorry I'm not stomping my feet hard enough for you. But I hold hope, and you are not going to take it away from me! No way, no how.

Change is not always good. Obama has changed our debt fro 10 to 15 trillion.

Obama didn't change it himself. He just allowed it to change to that instead of changing to 5 trillion like he promised.

It's been 4 years since Bush left yet the debt is increasing. It was 10 trillion, but now it's 16 trillion and increasing which caused the credit rating to go down for the first and second time in history.
  • Falcon ray 2012/11/17 18:46:46
    Falcon
The teabaggers in congress are the ones that caused the credit rating to go down. The interest on the debt Bush left is around $800B a year. When Bush was appointed to the White House the CBO projected that the then $5T debt would be paid down in the next 10 years and we would have a surplus of $1T. Bush gave part of that to the rich with his tax giveaway and created the rest of his $10T debt with two wars, one of which was illegal... not to mention stupid. Republicans want to spend, they just don't want to pay.
  • ray Falcon 2012/11/18 02:29:20 (edited)
    ray
It's because of the debt. It's been rising ever since he got into office ans is still rising now over 16 trillion.

The war in Iraq produced very little debt since it started in 2003 and the debt slowly started rising. And the war in Afghanistan started in 2001, and again, the debt slowly started to rise. There was no sudden increase until 2007 which is years after the wars started.
  • Falcon ray 2012/11/24 03:19:21
    Falcon
But it was when the bills started coming due, and it was 7 years into the Bush administration with a year left to go.

You are delusional if you think the wars didn't cause the debt. They weren't even in the budget. Every bit if that money was over and above the budget. The Republicans couldn't get us into war fast enough... but they didn't want to pay for it.
  • Falcon Preside... 2012/08/13 10:31:09
    Falcon
And don't lose sight of who saddled us with the first 10T before Obama took office.
  • Preside... Falcon 2012/08/13 13:50:12
    President Camacho
The other 43 presidents. Obama has created more debt than any other
  • Falcon Preside... 2012/11/14 19:44:23
    Falcon
Actually the 5T debt was supposed to be paid off and we were to have a 1T surplus 10 years after Clinton left. Bush turned that into a 10T deficit in eight years.
  • ray Falcon 2012/11/18 02:35:04
    ray
The debt rose 5 trillion in 8 years under Bush, and Obama promised to cut it in half but instead raised it by over 5 trillion in 4 years.
