Is Obama A Neocon?

chaoskitty123 2012/04/28 23:08:33
That does make sense as Bush and Obama did work together like they shared something in common
That doesn't make sense but then, I don't understand what a Neocon is so maybe it's true
What Change?
Obama is not a Neocon, he's just incompetent
Obama is not a Neocon, he's just a traitor to his own party
Obama is not a Neocon, I just don't know what he is
Obama isn't a Neocon....

Until the 1960's, almost all Neoconservatives were Democrats. They had begun possibly as Moderate Libertarians who joined the Democratic Party becoming part of the New Liberals of the mid to late 19th century. Also joining the New Liberals were Socialists and Communists because it was clear this was basically a two party nation if you wanted to win federal election. When the Great Depression hit, these people split from the Liberals and began calling themselves New Conservatives having blamed the Socialists and Communists for causing the economic collapse. However, they did not stop calling themselves Liberals interchangeably with New Conservative / Neoconservative until the 60's when they began changing political parties. The reason they began switching parties was they were Kennedy supporters but they weren't racists and they viewed Johnson as a racist who was catering to the political left giving them even more power... pretty much, they viewed Johnson as a closet Socialist.

However, not all Neocons switched parties as some remained loyal Democrats and some viewed being a Democrat as more conductive to their political careers... one such man was Barack Obama who didn't see a future for himself as a Republican.

Proof?

Check the mans voting record as at the state level he voted Present on many issues that would have benefited the left and as a US Senator, he never once voted against Bush... instead, he voted to give Bush everything Bush wanted even voting to pass Bush legislation through cloture. When you check his voting record on the issues, he voted against almost everything the political left claims to believe in.

Like Neocons claimed to be Liberals when they were Democrats, they stopped doing that as Republicans for obvious reasons but as most true Conservatives know, Neocons aren't true Conservatives. They support the welfare state, they support illegal immigration and they use war as a first response where calmer heads could find a better way.

In our wars in the Middle East, the question is why are they taking so long when we won the wars at the start within the first two years? Bush promised we were not nation building and we would get out when we captured or killed Osama... then shifted directions saying our goal wasn't to get Osama at all. He should have turned the conflicts over to NATO and the UN to pull our troops out and serve as backup for the international forces. Then there was the war in Iraq which had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda... but it is typical of Neocons to support a perpetual state of war. It was the Neocons who pushed us into Korea and Vietnam when they were still Democrats... and they're the ones who pushed us into Afghanistan and Iraq.

How could Obama support Bush so strongly as a Democrat when he supposedly opposed bush before becoming a US Senator? Simple... it's how he got elected in the first place by telling Liberals what they wanted to hear knowing they are too blind to notice that while he talks like a Liberal, he votes like a Conservative Democrat because while the left accepts lip service, the right requires results to vote for a man like Obama.

Obama was one of a handful of leaders in Washington DC guaranteed to support bush at every turn and when Bush left office, he began supporting Obama and at every turn, efforts by Democrats to bring Bush and Cheney up for trial were suddenly dismissed by someone high up on the totem pole.

In fact, when you compare Obama to Romney, the likely Republican primary nominee, Obama comes off as a rightwinger and Romney a leftwinger... unless, of course, Romney is a Neocon as well who told the left what they wanted to hear to be elected as Governor of the most Democrat state in the nation. Romney clearly is not a true Conservative when you examine his voting record and his slips where he states a belief he claims to once have held but not anymore.

Neocons solve problems by tossing money at them because Neocons are not very good with domestic issues as their views are external. They are also strong supporters of Plutocracy as when they left the Democratic Party, they took most of that partys corporate support with them. They are known to support wealthy elitists and for all of Obama's doubletalk, he has supported giving the wealthy what they want. Just like Neocons did when they were Democrats, they talked against wealth but voted in favor of their wealthy benefactors.

When you examine Obama's voting record, you find it is overwhelmingly rightwing which begs the question why when he talks like a leftwinger... then contradicts almost everything he says he supports. As President, he's in a position where talking like a Liberal will be more easily revealed as a lie which forces him to support leftwing issues to a point... but he generally supports leftwing legislation he thinks will be defeated. When Obamacare passed, no one looked more shocked than Obama himself and it is Obama himself who has done more to eliminate Obamacare than Republicans. Obama was the one who removed the public option not once, but three times and several months ago, he cut away over a third of it admitting those parts he removed would cost more. Federal Republican leaders haven't done a damn thing to remove Obamacare as for all their talk, it's at the state level that Republicans are trying to remove Obamacare... federal leaders haven't done a damn thing.

People keep asking Who Is Barack Obama because the man is a walking contradiction... he would not be a contradiction if he were a Neocon Democrat as his behavior suddenly becomes 100% understandable.

As more and more Republicans become aware that something is wrong within their ideological system, and become aware that what's wrong are Neocons claiming to be Conservatives, what if Barack Obama himself were a Neocon as that would definately explain his cross party support for Bush when he was President and Bush's support for Obama after leaving office... birds of a feather flock together.

well he's a "progressive/liberal"(not really true progressives/liberal just calls themselves that), and necons are the republican version of "progressive/liberal" so I would say he is a neocon

the only thing different between "progressives/liberals" and neocons is the rhetoric they spew so that they look good to their party
