Is Mitt Romney's plan to get rid of Planned Parenthood, the next battle in the WAR ON WOMEN or will it balance the budget without taxing the ultra-wealthy?
Not one Republican has indicated that they want to "Get Rid" of planned Parenthood. They do however want to take away their Subsiies of about 700 Million dollars a year.
It is planned parenthood that says if they lose the Government subsidy, they will have to close. Last year they had a 25 Million "Excess over Expenses" on a 1 Billion dollar budget. Because PP is a Non Profit organization, they cannot call that a profit.
But if you own a business, what do the Tax people call your "Excess over Expenses".
Bob, just so you know... when the ultra rich were taxed at 90% the government still only realized 18% in tax revenue. The same real revenue today...18% hmmm maybe income taxes dont really affect government revenues or expenses....
Its not a war on women. Planned Parenthood is mulitimillion dollar money making institution. They are raking tons if money from drug companies, donations and its all non profit. Corruption breeds corruption and this organization is corrupt.
The Ken doll, Mitt, can kiss his election goodbye with yet another dumb thing to say which he already has tried to walk back. 3 million women use Planned Parenthood for health screenings and contraception options every year. Komen for the Cure found out how just not to try that gambit.
Right now it's just a play for the hearts and minds of the RWNJ's. I don't think it has occurred to him that is would be perceived by women as part of the Cons war on women.
One thing at a time man, it's hard to multitask out there on the campaign trail.
Romney is not saying get rid of PP. Just no longer fund them with the Billions of Government Tax dollars and let them stand on their own. Abortion is Legal, and if they operate legally, Which is being found to be a problem, they cannot be touched. Planned Parenthood says they cannot stay in business if the federal funding is taken away.
They claimed a 25 Million Dollar "Excess Income over profit" on a 1 Billion dollar budget.
Their CEO's draw salaries as much as many Wall Street CEO's, and fly around in corporate jets.
They charge from $300-$450 per abortion, which cannot be "Legally" charged to Medicaid.
They are under inditement all over the country for Fraud.
They are the Mafia of the abortion business, and still people support them?
You argument has nothing to do with what I said. Abortion is Legal. And that's that.
PP can stay in business for ever. I do not care.
But I do not feel that tax dollars should be going to a Multi Billion dollar company, when they do not give free abortions anyway. And defraud the Government as well through Medicaid fraud. Again Medicaid is supported by both your state amd Federal tax dollars. Which is what Romney is saying.
Call them. Look on the web. You want an abortion? Go for it. They charge from $300-$450 for it. If you cannot afford it they will guide you to a loan company to get the money. It's a Cash and Carry Business. And you will sign a waiver by the way holding them unaccountable for any side effects.
Not withstanding the potential Cost in the future from the medical problems that are beginning to be related to abortion. Not enough research yet, But some findings that Abortion can lead to increaed instances of HPV, Cervical Cancer, and breast cancer in a woman's later years.
Sounds to me like it is you that is calling for a war on Men.
It’s planned PARENThood not planned WOMANhood so it’s not just a woman’s issue and the government should not be funding it in the first place! Birth control is a private matter between consenting adults (I would much rather it be married couples) and as such should be left up to the individuals involved, not a function of the government.
In a nation of 360 million people, where half of that 360 million are sexually active, you really think leaving it up to 155 million sexually active people; to be responsible is believable?
Think about how much more you and I are going to pay for welfare, WIC, food stamps, housing, etc, etc, etc... if this nations STOPS trying to help others in the realm of responsibility?
So tell me, will won't you be here on SH, if Romney got his way in de-funding PParenthood; when all of a sudden more people file for welfare, WIC, food stamps, government housing???
Think about it, and give me an honest answer... (meaning, I don't want to hear a "talking point" reply).
Truthfully, people need to take responsibility for their own lives. If we keep bailing them out for their mistakes the pattern will never change and will only get worse. It has to be a gradual defunding of all of the entitlements you mentioned otherwise no one will see a reason to improve themselves and more will hop on the apple cart. Eventually you and I and those that are responsible will be paying out more for others welfare than we do our own.
These are not talking points, they are from the heart of an old man that lived in this country when only a handful truly needed help and has seen it snowball into the mess we are in today.
Sorry to update you, but when a population reaches that numbers in the hundred millions, your way of life is just not realistic. The numbers are against you.
Sorry, but your day has past, and we have to deal with reality ... unless you really want to become a nation of a BILLION people in only a decade or two.
Think about that day... you feel broke with the way it is now...
You think a million more babies a year, every year with the "take care of your own and fend for yourself talking point or whatever", is going to cut it?
Sorry... but I just don't think so...
Again, the numbers are against you... and one more thing... what will life really be like, when millions of people have to fend for themselves?
It's called mob rules sir... people will DIE... and it's not going to be pretty. But if that's what you call a solution sir, I personally want no part of that future...
Let's see, a sustainable population based on people making a difficult but logical choice for themselves vs. your bleeding heart emotional no one can make a choice for themselves and you committing all of us to pay for the increases of an already overbearing welfare system...
The choice is theirs, the law supports it. But the cost should not be on my tax dollars.
You want an Abortion, go to PP and pay the $300-$450. And if they cannot stay in business without Millions of tax dollars year then they should go out of business.
When by their own accounting last year they made 25 Million "Excess ofer Expenses" on a 1 billion dollar budget, I should think they are doing well.
And Margaret Sanger the Founder of Planned Parenthood did indeed start it in collusion with the KKK to perform Genocide on the Negros in the USA. If you do not realize that, you show grreat ignorance.
And who's going to "bitch" about paying more in the future for Welfare, WIC, Food Stamps, housing... for all these kids that aren't aborted and their parents WON'T be able to afford to pay for?
LOL sure go ahead and "bitch" now about YOUR tax dollar... Just don't whine when they apply for YOU to pay for that unwanted bundle of joy in Welfare, WIC, food stamps, housing, education, etc, etc, etc...
Because of people like you, we'll either hear more whining or being paying more...
Thanks... but you're not doing anyone any favor...
Apparently you cannot read. If a woman wants an abortion, pay for it.
Otherwise don't get pregnant. That worked for a long time before Planned parenthood came along. It's called taking responsibility for your actions. Something our society seems to have lost.
They now want the Government to take responsibil;ity from the cradle to the grave. And bottom line you support that idiocy.
$9 for a months supply of Birth Control pills at target. Problem solved.
Ummm hate to tell you, but "personal responsibility" isn't working. So blathering out "talking points" isn't a solution.
Here's the facts... Your not going to stop others from having sex... The 1950's was over in 1959. Your solution will burden WE tax payers with more cradle to grave possibilities... but you have your so-called "talking points" that you believe everyone will adapt and live by.

Roc, I'm not for entitlements, but I know and understand it's a fact of life...
Try to have a good day, I'm off to work for a few hours but it really has been great bantering with you!
Wait till the full effects of the HPV epidemic kick in.
Hmmm, is one person directing this Genocide?
Let's see, a sustainable population based on people making a difficult but logical choice for themselves vs. your bleeding heart emotional no one can make a choice for themselves and you committing all of us to pay for the increases of an already overbearing welfare system...
I'll take the personal genocide option...
Thanks.

Then there is the fraud, more of your tax dollars down the tube.
