Is Mitt Romney a 'Williams-Sonoma Republican'?

Though he's only recently acquired the GOP nomination, Mitt Romney has had it firmly in his grasp for months. But there's still one glaring issue that some Republicans have with the guy -- he's what The Atlantic called a "Williams-Sonoma Republican." Statistically, his "sweet spot" seems to be a very specific demographic of upscale voters: people who make $75K to $150K a year, family-centered, amateur gourmet cooks.

A lot of this Williams-Sonoma talk originated in a Los Angeles Times article that described how Team Romney mined for consumer data to construct a specific, accurate model of potential support, and Williams-Sonoma shoppers apparently scored exceedingly well. That would suggest that other Republican demographics -- religious, low-income, or socially conservative -- are being ignored in favor of these upscale voters. Does that sound like an accurate assessment, or is it just political scruff? Is Mitt Romney a "Williams-Sonoma Republican"?

What the hell is a Williams-Sonoma Republican..another feeble attempt at bringing him down? No matter how you ill-informed anti-Romney zealots feel, his vision for America will get us off the path to socialism and back on track to the Republic which we are. As a Catholic, my vote is for the Mormon, he's being vetted 24/7 by the media, we know where he stands and from whence he came, and from what I have gleaned, his credentials far outweigh that of BHO. Call me what you want.

CAPITALISM has worked in this country many years Truthfully I have not been 1 of the 1%,but I do not envy those that are. Its a lot of hard work & they earn every penny,I would much rather give my money & get something for my money than just live on hand-outs from others its called PRIDE in oneself.

"Though he's only recently acquired the GOP nomination, Mitt Romney has had it firmly in his grasp for months."

Oh? Has the National Convention been held? No. Has he won the majority of delegates in state conventions? No. So when did he acquire the nomination? When sh decided to give it to him? lol Think if you repeat the lie enough times it will become the truth? Just saying...

With only 496 Delegates as of date confirmed so far in the Delegate process with TX having 155 Delegates, that's assuming he would get ALL 155 would only equal 651 Delegates. That's a far cry from the 1144 needed to be declared the nominee.

What these statisticians failed to mention is that despite the yearly wage demographic, 70% of Williams Sonoma shoppers are WOMEN. Why not call him a Harry and David republican, or a Volvo republican, or a slew of other trendy, yuppie terms. Romney's appeal is to a wider range of demographics than those the Republican party would like to think are representitve of Democrats.

What? Romney answered his question......he said he was not in favor of medical marijuana. The guy asking a question is an idiot. Of course he would be arrested if medical marijuana is illegal.....Romney would not personally arrest him because he is not in law enforcement. Liberals are so weak with their arguments...too funny.

Liberals don't understand that businesses are in business to make a profit...they must make a profit to survive. Liberals do not understand as Obama doesn't how to manage money. Romney has business experience...excellent business experience...Obama has none. Hence, the results of big Government spending and no business sense over the last 3 1/2 years.

Then why is he lying about his net worth if being rich is not an issue? His own campaign says he is worth 250 million. Truth is, he is a billionaire, and continues to hide that fact with his off shore accounts. Yeah, he is straight forward and honest. Him and BO ought to run together, both have idiots supporting them on both sides. Sheeesh!

I agree the only thing is he has a lot on his place with government alone to many there do not want a powerful U.S. What people should remember ,yes, he's rich & he made that money he did not get it from you,so you can do the same in this country the way it was,WE have values
& it seems he does to & thats what counts.
