It does not matter what those companies had to do to remain or regain their standing in their respective markets. Businesses are not in business to give Americans a place to occupy, they are in business to make a profit and stay in business. If moving a business to an area where labor costs are reasonable is what needs to be done to maintain profitability, there is nothing wrong with that. Investment doesn't follow poor performance. That is the whole reason Bain and other venture capital people get involved, because funding is not attainable through traditional sources. Traditional sources stay away from companies that have a poor outlook for success. I don't particularly care where he was born. I don't particularly care where Obama was born either.

I'll give you a perfect personal example. In 2008 I bought a plastics manufacturer, 300 employees, all facing massive layoffs, because the company couldn't compete with Chinese manufacturers of the same parts.
I revamped the operation, turned their products toward the medical device market, saved 3 jobs that would have otherwise folded with the manufacturer. In 2014 my facility in Columbia will be complete and that company which is now includes two other facilities, will move. If the state, local, and federal government would like my business to remain here they would have to eliminate 40 of the 48 annual permits I need to manufacture my products here. The employees would have lost their jobs regardless whether I provided the venture capital or not.
