So Mitt won't disclose his tax returns prior to 2010 but required more from those he considered to be his running mate. Do you find that hypocritical?

Romney
Campaign Requested 'Several' Years of Tax Returns of VP Contenders

CHARLOTTE - Mitt Romney requested "several" years of tax returns from his potential running mates, a senior adviser
to the candidate said Saturday, suggesting that those considered for
the ticket may have been required to reveal more financial documents
that the candidate himself.

In a briefing with reporters in Virginia Saturday, senior adviser Beth Myers,
who was charged with headed the vice president selection process,
declined to specify exactly how many years of tax returns were required,
saying only that "several" were requested.

Several, by definition, implies more than two years.

Romney, who has been under intense pressure to release more of his own
tax returns by both Democrats and members of his own party, has so far released his 2010 returns and an estimate for his 2011 returns.

The campaign has said that the full 2011 returns will be released sometime before the November election.

When asked why he does not put the criticism to rest and just release
more of his tax returns, Romney has said that no matter how many he
decided to make public, there will always be a call to give more.

And while Romney's own father, George Romney,
released 12 years of tax returns during his bid for the presidency, the
candidate today cites Sen. John McCain as the one who set the precedent
to release just two years.

Romney basically gave Obama another term with his pick for VP. He lost the very voters he needed to put him over the top. Independents and moderates will never go for a Romney/Ryan ticket. Maybe he didn't really want to be president.

Well I don't happen to believe the deficit can't be improved. And since I make a tiny fraction of what Mitt does, maybe he should pay more.

Someone is going to have to deal with that, along with numerous ills we face, or else everything is going to come crashing down. It may be too late already.

I think it is a set up to make sure Obama wins. The Rebubs. that I liked are all gone.

I will have to agree with you. My choice was Scott Walker. I almost sure he could win the a 10%+ vote.

It's just MHO, but they picked the one who is least likely to win for a reason.

But why would they do that? New World Order? Is it all an illusion anyway, both parties are the same anyway, but appearence has got to be everything, creating the idea of left and right, liberal vs conservative> Is it all about the Rothchilds of the world?

I really want to believe Republicans are providing best candidates possible, that their voters want and will support. Maybe I'm naive, just want to remain optimistic about how our leaders are voted for.

I hear alot of people say that they are voting for the lesser of two evils, depending on what side you choose. I think that is awful! We need more choices. Who besides Obama is running on the Dem. ticket? Why was Romney the pick when there were others that were more qualified? I don't know if things will get better, but I think it will get much worse with Romney.

I think another four years of Obama will be a disaster, but I just can't get behind a Romney/Ryan ticket. Third party here I come.

BTW, I hope nobody thinks that means my criticism of Obama is coming to an end because it's not.

You could be 100%. The 2012 election could be a replay of the 2008 lose by John McCain.

Do you really think that's what is going on, republicans throwing another election for President?
I believe they did in 2008, figured they couldn't win anyway, show the country Obama and the democrats as the losers, and taking back the White House in 2012. Seems like conspiracy, but maybe they've decided things aren't ready yet, and 2016 is now the goal. 4 more years doing everything possible to make Obama administration look bad, sorta balancing things out from the poor job rating Bush had when he left office.

On the other hand, are republican politicians so arrogant, figuring voters too stupid? or do they really think their voters are informed, intelligent, and this is what they want?

If throwing the election is what's happening, really degrades the importance and integrity of the office of President of the United States. Sad if there is any truth to it.

It's not that I think they're actually throwing the election. Some jerk or jerks convinced them they don't need moderates or independents to win. Some here at SH call them RINO's or Paulbots. If I want to be insulted, I usually just have a short conversation with a liberal. If I want down right stupidity I'll converse with the other side. Their arrogance has really opened my eyes this election season. Here I come third party candidate. WooHoo!

I dont think so,theres lots of sane people out there who likes Ryans plan, that calls for cuts in wasteful medicare and medicaid ,ie,fraud, his plan calls for help for the truely poor, and not for the ones who dont need it,so I dont think anything is wrong with that, the demoCRAPS arent going to do anything but turn this country into another Greece, the greeks also thought their gov.could keep spending, but they suffered the consequences.
  • ken BILL 2012/08/13 00:36:18

All I've heard is that Republicans don't need moderates or independents. That's something I'm sure they're gonna live to regret. In fact, this country will regret that decision, and arrogant Republicans will be to blame.
