Has the NAACP become Blinded by Hate?
Julian Bond Gave A speech at Radford University, about his perceptrion of racism in America. He stated that: “We saw hate on display this summer, in town halls and tea parties, subsidized by corporations and their well funded fear machine across the country. Our politics have been poisoned by armed and paranoid self-described patriots drawn from the Taliban wing of American politics, a true fright wing. Once called birchers, now called birthers, spreading lies, and spreading myths.” “Birthers, who challenge Obama’s citizenship, “tea party” members who call for the dismantling of much of the federal government.” “Now race has been added to the brew, greatly increasing its toxicity. The real issue for many opponents today is that we now have a president that they believe is guilty of governing while black.” Why was Harry Reid’s comment not offensive to the NAACP yet Trent Lott had to resign his position? Reid’s comments were that, Obama could be successful as a black candidate in part because of his "light-skinned" appearance and speaking patterns "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." Reid’s apology was accepted by Now this is what Trent Lott said and the context in which it was said. "I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either." Lott, R-Mississippi, made the comment Thursday on Capitol Hill during a 100th birthday celebration for Thurmond, who is retiring next month after nearly 48 years in the Senate. He did apologize stating, "A poor choice of words conveyed to some the impression that I embraced the discarded policies of the past," Lott said. "Nothing could be further from the truth, and I apologize to anyone who was offended by my statement." So what was the response from the NAACP and the Democrats in Washington…Lott’s apology ignored, and a witch hunt that ended up with Lott resigning.
Are the Democrats and Republicans being treated differently by the NAACP? Are the lies and hate that Julian Bond spouts racist? http://archives.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/12/09/lott.comment/

Julian Bond, the chairman of the NAACP, gave a typical speech at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina in February of 2006. Of the Republican Party, he said, "Their idea of equal rights is the American flag and the Confederate swastika flying side by side." He called Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her predecessor, Colin Powell, as tokens. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1282/is_3_58/ai_n26696...
“numerous prominent African-American officials, including NAACP Chairman Julian Bond and Attorney General Eric Holder, have called him to offer support amid the controversy that began over the weekend. “http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/11/reid.obama/index.html

I'm not very educated about the NAACP, but there does seem to be a double standard being applied here. This is especially so considering the fact that Democrats were racist at one time, and later became more liberal in this regard. As this was happening, Republicans admittedly did have a racist period. But at the current time, I see no evidence that either party has a materially different proportion of racist members or supporters. I think the main thing that separates the two parties at the current time is their position on the Tenth Amendment, not race.

What would be the potential for considering the NAAWP? Is that racist?
We need to end all race based programs. They are inherently racist. If everyone is to be judged by their character and qualifications, then the law should not be mandating that we judge by the color of their skin.
Should we now only look at the time in Presedent Lincoln's life when he was a slave owner and shread anyone who dares complement him?
Like the ACLU, the NAACP's goal IS to destroy Freedom and Liberty for Americans.
