according to the bible, no.
Matthew 6:5-6
“When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

Seems like the religion police are trying to stop another high school from prohibiting the fans, students from saying a simple prayer before a sporting event. The separation of church and state not withstanding, should we allow atheists and agnostics,( the obvious minority), to dictate this policy.

.... please stop.
You always have, and always will be able to say a personal prayer before a sporting match, a hard test, etc. You cannot, however, grab a microphone or stand in the front of the classroom and say 'let's all say a prayer' - THAT is imposing your religion on others.
If you fail to see the difference, try moving to a nation that does not primarily believe in your religion and see what REAL lack of freedom of religion is like.
They may, rightly so, be stopping a state official from leading Everyone in prayer.
Would you be happy if a state official led everyone in a muslim prayer?
No, it is NOT your right to LEAD a prayer when you think it's appropriate for OTHERS.

Only those that oppose freedom of religion would want to prevent people from saying a prayer.
