I read both posts but don't interpret them as you do. The first post is plainly a hypothetical (confirmed by use of the term "if") situation AND asks a question. The second post asks a legitimate question, evidenced by the replies. People are still allowed to voice opinions no matter how offensive another may deem them. However, being offensive (as opposed to being obscene) remains rightfully legal.

Remember the Boddhisatva's creed,

If we don't continue to dialog with each other, that isn't the answer either Starman. If you were to just stay on this site and get no other opinions, you would believe that this President is the most contemptable piece of trash (along with his wife) to have ever graced (or desicrated) the White House. We know that's not true and if the opposites have two brain cells to rub together, they know it too.

Honestly, I have found some really great people on here who wouldn't vote the way I do (or I them), if you held a gun to our collective heads. But if you can dismiss the vitriol of the haters, you can get into some great discussions and understand where they are coming from.

Even the Right on here admit that this is a Right leaning site, Far Right in the opinion of many. I wasn't on this site three months before one of the founders blocked me, but I never felt that was loss and was frankly amused by it. I came over here from a "self-proclaimed" site, AlterNet but got tired of preaching to my own choir. That's what makes this interesting and if it gets too much for you, just take a break for awhile. I do that frequently and it helps a lot.

I choose to stay, if only because it gives me such delight to be a thorn in the side of the moronic, self-congratulatory, right wing club here. Plus I want to be around to see all their heads explode when Obama wins reelection.

This is exactly what happened at one point in the past. Many people left sodahead and went to another site created for like minds. Some of those that did leave are highly intelligent and well informed and they could see that what they had to say was pretty much like spitting in the wind. I left for awhile myself but came back. Sense then I try not to ingage in politics, even though I slip up once in awhile.

There is no question that sodahead is very bias. But as long as you can live with that we just keep on trying.

Sodahead may be populated by more Cons than Libs but so is the whole country, by approx. 2 to 1. And though the assassination post IS beyond the pale, he's just ONE GUY.

I just hit "Delete" a lot (like for the 2 links you post as examples). But I delete questions of all sorts that don't interest me (like whether Justin Bieber is gay). Including a lot of Progressive-oriented questions, but I admit that's usually because I don't want to see the RW poison again, not because I have a big objection to the question. :)
