Is it possible for someone to be a fundamentalist Bible thumping Christian who wears Christianity on their sleeve and yet be an avid supporter of the Democrat party and its' values?

By and large, the democratic party platform is in direct conflict with scriptural principles, period. If one submits to the authority of scripture in one's life, then one can not be a democrat or support key democratic party policies, at least not without appearing hypocritical.

This is why I don't take sides on parties or agendas of parties. Instead as a believer I side with my beliefs when I vote on matters.

Yes, it is possible because they don't really know a lot about either politics or Christianity. To me this means they are lousy Democrats and lousy Christians. Lousy Democrats eventually lose and lousy Christians are probably not truly Christians. Saying you are one and being one are two very, very different things.

A true Christian in the truest sense of the word, as follower of Jesus, would be apolitical. He or she would be a supporter of the Kingdom of God and realize that Jesus taught that only God's Kingdom would resolve mankind's woes. Jesus and his followers in the bible never involved themselves in nationalism or the political processes ot thier time. Indeed as Jesus told them his folllowers were persecuted, in the minority, put to death, exiled and/ or imprisoned. Jesus clearly taught that his followers were no part of this world and that this was Satan's world. Knowing that they kept quiet in regards to who was hin politcal power and never once indicated through action or deed that they ever anticipated a earthly nation under any man's leadership was anything except opposed to God's Kingom. A true Christian would be expending thier time and energy promoting God's Kingom and talking of the Good News of God's Kingdom instead of speaking in terms of republican or democrat.

    Seen any true christians lately?

I know many "Christians" who are democrats. Obama, Rev Wright, JJ, Sharpton. The proper way to frame the question is: Can an democrat be a "true" Christian? The answer is - No.

It's a mystery to me. I had an uncle, who was a Holiness preacher and also a Democrat. Hard as it is to understand, it is possible.

No, Democrats want nothing to do with "Christian Fundamentalists" because the Democrats have standards and morals. democrats christian fundamentalists democrats standards morals
democrats christian fundamentalists democrats standards morals
democrats christian fundamentalists democrats standards morals
We don't need wackos like the (non)Christian right.

I know some that are and it is because they are not taught much beyond salvation and they do not logicaly apply Bible truth to political theory so they as Christians vote for a party that is anti-christian and they get angry with people for trying to correct them

It's funny that you say that because he would start getting exceptionally defensive if I even questioned it so I don't mention it. It's got me curious though because even though I consider myself to be a Christian, I don't wear it on my sleeve and I keep it to myself. However I apply those principles and it prevents me from voting Democrat. I think I have a deeper understanding than he does and he's the one telling everyone what a great Christian he is. I'm honestly baffled.

However, he may be attending one of those 'social justice' churches who try to claim Jesus was a communist.

I am not sure.. I am not religious, but I believe in God. I do know that propaganda uses the church for agendas though, and I do know that many churches lately have been touting the social justice agenda as opposed to equal justice.
