California Democrats want to increase the number of parents a child can have. SB 1476 would allow a child to have more than two parents at the same time in order to accommodate same-sex parents, surrogates, assisted reproduction, and other non-traditional parental relationships.
SacBee.com reports:
"The bill brings California into the 21st century, recognizing that there are more than Ozzie and Harriet families today," Leno said. But some disagree. "It comes as no surprise that he would try to say that a child has more than two parents – that's absurd," said Benjamin Lopez, a legislative analyst for Traditional Values Coalition, a Bible-based civil rights group.
SacBee points out potential problems and complexities caused by SB 1476:
Examples of three-parent relationships that could be affected by SB 1476 include: 1) A family in which a man began dating a woman while she was pregnant, then raised that child with her for seven years. The youth also had a parental relationship with the biological father. 2) A same-sex couple who asked a close male friend to help them conceive, then decided that all three would raise the child. 3) A divorce in which a woman and her second husband were the legal parents of a child, but the biological father maintained close ties as well. How do you feel about the proposed bill?
SacBee.com reports:
Mom and Dad, same-sex couples or blended families, California law is clear: No more than two legal parents per child. State Sen. Mark Leno is pushing legislation to allow a child to have multiple parents.

Tax deductions, citizenship, probate, public assistance, school notifications and Social Security rights all can be affected by determinations of parenthood, notes the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists.

Until you can learn that drug addicted parents, people who abort, etc etc etc are entirely a different subject, you will NEVER have an open brain to accept what's most important! Typical far left Wing nut job who can't debate without attacking an individual! Man I pity you. Grow up!
http://www.divorcestatistics....
They're like a perpetually dissatisfied Goldilocks- single heads of household parents- no good- now 3 parents- no good- when they can figure out how to keep their own families intact- maybe I'll care about their opinion.
As it is, we have many families with step=parents- there have always been 4 grandparents- we used to have extended families with lots of adults playing parental roles-
If 3 people want to love and be responsible for a child- lucky child!
For your information, liberals have more than twice as many divorces as conservatives based on your red state, blue state criteria.
The most complete data is from 2009:
Red States Divorce total: 328,003
Blue States Divorce Total: 695,818
As you can see, your way off! Falsely claiming "conservatives should be the LAST people who get to have an opinion" due to a higher divorce rate is bad enough, but to make a statement like that is outrageously bigoted! How would you like it if all liberals opinion don't count since the facts are...

How would you like it if all liberals opinion don't count since the facts are in and they get divorced twice as much? Seems fair going by your rules and statements!
You stated, "when they can figure out how to keep their own families intact- maybe I'll care about their opinion". When you can stop being blinded by your political party to the point of discriminating against people you don't even know, maybe then I'll care about your bigoted opinion. Actually, don't hold your breath. I don't listen to bigots. Check your facts before you spread more liberal lies like your president does.
Conservatives and liberals both make good parents. What's important is the child! Not what someone wants to do for sex!
I understand that "it takes a village" -- but it doesn't take 6 parents.
