What's the best way to prevent teen pregnancy? That's up for debate, but according to Tennessee lawmakers, preventing teens from hugging might be a start. The state just passed a bill allowing the parents of students to bring charges against teachers who condone "gateway sexual activity," an unclear term which has been the subject of much criticism. Some suggest the law could bring charges against teachers for allowing students to hold hands, dance too closely, or -- worse yet -- hug.
Planned Parenthood took a stance against the bill, and the organization's Director of Education said, "If the state of Tennessee gets to create the [sex] curriculum, it has to create something that umbrella reflects everyone." However, Tennessee is unique in that teen sex rates are higher there than the national average. According to a 2009 study, 61 percent of Memphis City high school students and 27 percent of middle school students have had sex. But does that mean holding hands should be banned? And is it even a "gateway sexual activity" to begin with?

+34Yes! Add to that walking, talking, touching, seeing, breathing, and being human. I believe they are all gateways to sexual activity.
holding hands, hugging, and cuddling are not sexual acts, they are acts of affection. You dont cuddle or hold someones hand to get off, you do it to show affection for them. All this could possibly do is frustrate kids and make them more likely to be in a relationship thats only about sex and less about feelings/emotion.
Its a simple fix, they need to stop thinking kids wont have sex the only reason of teen pregnancy is cause parents don't know how to talk to their child. Also schools need to stop hiding the fact teens have sex.
I can understand "too much" PDA but holding hands?? comeon...
We now know (Kepler) there's (a given) plenty more out there. Did not Jesus say he had "other flocks" to attend and I don't buy the Mormon version.
If He's unique (no data, Buddha?), it might be a while before He returns. Might be faster if We go out & look for him. Also, Earth will become like Venus in just over a billion years (Astrophysics) assuming Man doesn't screw up beforehand (not to mention asteroids & super-volcanos [Yellowstone?]).

In Jeremiah 23: 3 [ had other flocks to attend ] , he gathered the remnant of his flock [ to understand more of the meaning of this, go to Isaiah 11: 10-12.
To get an idea of the returning of Christ, you have to watch the signs of the times. None of us knows, but God alone when Christ will return...by the looks of things [ if people don't change and obey the commandments, it won't be that long ]. Christ said to keep an eye on the region around Israel... toward that area.
I have read OmNI magazine more than once and it is interesting and educating. The ones that will inherit the earth are the ones that are more in like mind as Jesus Christ...and he was not only meek, but many other things, such as humble, filled with love for others and children, etc.
The kingdom of God will be here on earth and earth will have a cleansing and become as beautiful as it was in the begining before man and sin pretty well are and have been destroying it.

Presently studying the Gnostic Gospels (Thomas e.g.) to divine the real message as well as consulting Carl Jung & Soren Kierkegaard.
Just starting to attend a Walter Brueggemann's "Embracing the Prophets in Contemporary Culture" at a United Church. Just finished a Bible Study of the OT Prophets & Revelation (Critical Thinking encouraged) with the Presbyterians (NRSV) which made the text relevant to Modern Times for Me.
The way things are going, it's likely I'm gonna be a Latter-Day (pun) Augustine of Hippo (yet to read 'Confessions') albeit somewhat eclectically syncretic.

A skeptic til the End?
Someone told me a long time ago to never get in the bushes and get all bugy...in otherwords, getting into so much that you will become confused at the simple things. God is simple, not complicated at all. All He wants is for us to love him, and how we do that is the way we conduct our lives, obeying the 10 commandments and worshiping him. Its just that simple. Many of the things in the bible are lessons and examples of the right way to live.He knows we're not perfect and He's there to help us through much.
And yes, there are demons and angels. Demons hate all of us and if we let them, try and turn us away from God. And they can do many other things...they can be very dangerous. Angels on the other hand, are servents of God and are here to help us when God ask them to.
God does have a plan for all of us. We are here to learn and grow and become closer to God. He does watch us and is beside those that love him, even keeps an eye on those that don't know him.
Yep, there is something big coming our way, but there are also other things coming our way and we need to stay close to God. We don't need to be fanatics or overbearing to be close, just be ourselves, but in more of a loving way. He knows our true hearts.
I hold a composite Mystic theology, quite heavy on Carl Jung (like him I employ a Quatenary: Father-Son-Spirit-Man[kind] which I regard as symbiotes). I read the Bible, Apocrypha, Gnostic Gospels
& have Bible Studies & talks by the Presbyterians with Critical Thinking a prerequisite on the prophetic Books & Revelations which has made such relevant to the present (for me). I've also completed 12-Steps (for Co-Dependency & Behavior, not addictions) & still attend Celebrate Recovery with some Penecostals (unlike the Presbies, they're Literalist, so I toe their line [in public]) which is helping my personability and they appreciate my company.
As well as the 2 above I actively participate volunteer at 3 other Protestant Churchs (been in Catholic school, need I say more?). Fortunately 4 of them are within 2 blocks of my flat (go to the Penn via subway) put in >7 hrs on Sunday, in the choir with the presbies.

Already told you about my daimons. I've also perceived djin (genies) nearby while performing zhikr (chanting) & seen my deams while awake while kept in isolation so I know there's more to the Universe than just this material Reality.
The above may sound too contradictory for you but since I leave things a little slack, flexible & elastic, I can t(& have) taken hard theological shocks but recovered. (like a reed bending in the wind.
Most Protestants nowadays don't believe in Original Sin (we're made this way) and regard Good Work being the route to Salvation. I also hold a Jain view of the Afterlife rather than the Heaven/Hades Church version.
