One of my main complaints in recent years with regard to the Democrats is their Senate Majority Leader. As I said in a posting a couple of years ago, any political party with a befuddled old Andy Gump like Harry Reid at the wheel is going to have...."issues" shall we say? So you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was this week when the old guy started to show a little bit of long-overdue moxie. The senator from Nevada is an extremely cautious man. He says that a reliable source has informed him that Mitt Romney went for a decade without paying a dime of income tax. Given his well-earned reputation for timidity, if he's gone out on a limb to make a charge as serious as this, it must be true. Old Harry has never been the kind of pol to throw caution to the wind.
This statement is pure sleaze-ball politics and the statement was made where he is legally protected from slander suits. He did that as he knows this is pure BS and a pure CYA move. Doing that was so a fabricated lie could be told with no retaliation of any sort.
Priebus is a liar for the RNC, and is their mouthpiece. Until Romney shows his tax returns what Reid has learned from a Bain employee may very well be true.
I know a real easy way for Mitt to prove it. Real easy. Show us his tax returns for the past 10 years. When he showed John McCain his tax records for 20 years, and it scared him so bad he went with the Gnat-brained bimbo from Wasilla instead. Mitt’s scared, and he’s whistling throught he graveyard. And he has a right to be. He’s as phony as a million three dollar bills, and the public is wising up to it. And any Republican politician calling ANYONE a liar is a joke of epic proportions.

I really don't know. I tend to believe Harry Reid, but in this case, I want to know his source. One thing I do believe is that Romney was totally vetted by McCain 4 years ago. If McCain is not speaking up right now and defending Romney ... there could be some truth to what Senator Reid is saying.
We don't know until one of them proves themselves. Mittens can show his taxes and prove Harry wrong, or he can keep them secret and everyone will just assume the statement is true since he won't show them. Its a win-win for Harry.
