God is apolitical but in TODAY'S CONTEXT he thinks more like a Democrat. For example, Jesus Christ would not paint all people on welfare with the Republican broad brush. He would readily give to those TRULY in need and curse those who game the system.

I have better things to do than make inane guesses based on these events.
First, someone is missing the fact that "God" isn't even a name, but English translators have been using it since 1611. Second, it then falls on whose religion you are going to accept as valid that even worships a deity. Not all do.
Besides, why are you assuming that it's anyone's "God" that is controlling the weather in the first place especially tropical storms? Did you see the NWS maps of Katrina? The ones they removed? No. Probably not. They were quite revealing.
But it surely has not escaped everyone's notice that this one in fact DID land squarely ON New Orleans almost EXACTLY on the anniversary (the *seventh* one, even..) of Hurricane Katrina AND that despite well-prepared reinforcement to inner sea walls the outer one STILL collapsed leaving some unlucky residents inundated almost exactly as before... Does THAT sound like the work of anyone's God?

What a silly question. What moved the storm west was air pressure, convection, and dynamic equilibrium. No smiting was involved -- except maybe for the corrupt, scumbag Landrieu family and the other machine Democrats that have been picking New Orlean's collective pocket for over a century. Including them in the equation means you have to consider smiting as a possibility.
