The issue of climate change has strong political implications. If you accept the premise that average global temperatures have increased approximately one degree in the last 100 years, do you believe this is as a result of modern human activity? If so, which activities and what can we do about it? If not, why do some people believe the issue is of such great urgency?

It's a cycle of the earth. During dinosaur times (greatest time of vegitation and life) there was more CO2 in the climate than there is now. Humans contribute about 0.6% if the current CO2 levels. Cattle creates more CO2 than we do.
The "Global Warming" issue is ridiculous.

THE climate on this earth has alwats been up and down it is proven . I do how ever think we do have an impact on the earth just not as much as some say.. And al tecnoligy has pros and cons no matter what it is we just have to start thinking before we start using new things.

The most abundant greenhouse gas in the atmosphere is one that we have absolutely no control over: water vapor. Unless we want to drain the oceans and shoot all the water out into space, there isn't much we can do about it.

I doesn't matter if it is or it is not. Everyone should take care of the environment around them. I don't like walking through dirty forest or cities, I don't like breathing bad air, I don't like drinking bad water. Take care of the things around you.

It is important because the man-made global warming premise is used to implement policies that control how much of your earnings you keep, the freedoms you enjoy and way you live.

Pollution is a seperate issue from global warming. The two should not be confused.

Until we fully understand the impact we are having on the planet I think we should keep our resource consumption at sustanable levels and our polution to a minimum. Earth is the only place life exists that we know of. Since all of our eggs are in one basket lets be carefull with it.

Humanity still needs to study mother nature. I mean man has only been studying and keeping track of climate for a couple ov hundred years. Maybe this is a natural change ov climate for earth who knows? But global warming might also have something to do with the problem...

I think it's not right to say that it's all man-made but to say it's all cyclic is incorrect as well. We've only been able to gather solid statistical data in the past century and prior to that we have indicators that may not be reliable. To say human activity has had no effect is clearly wrong but more study is needed to determine the level of effect.

Global warming is nature's way of balancing the act. Once human beings (or anything that have caused the rise in temperature) are wiped out by it, the earth will cool down again. Then life grows out of it once more. And so on, and so on, and so on... :)

Concensus is that the world goes through cycles, however we are certainly, if not causing warming, we are helping hasten it along. Maybe to our destruction. Danger in not knowing.
