Consumers probably weren't as excited about Facebook's mysterious "awesome" announcement as Mark Zuckerberg hoped they would be, but it certainly got everyone talking.

Now that it's here, we're actually pretty impressed.

It's actually quite easy to use if you're used to Facebook Chat. Now, when you message a friend on Facebook, you have the option to talk to them using your computer camera. After installing an app with the click of a button, you're ready to go. Try it out for yourself here.

Basically, it's a Skype-esque plugin for Facebook chat. Interesting!

I'm very confused about it, and not a lot of my friends have skype or would care about using the video chat feature on facebook.

haven't tried it yet, but based on their crappy Facebook chat, don't have too much faith in it. Most people already use Skype, Gmail or Yahoo video chat anyway and those work fine.
