In the absence of a position of substance, some choose to block a SH rather than entertain meaningful discourse. Yeah, I was blocked by a self professed blowhard bully. I suspect I wasn't the first. Bullies are ALWAYS the same. If you don't cower from their assaults, they suddenly fear you and run.

I hate when people tell me shit and then block me with out even letting me get a word in. I only did it to one guy, but he sent me 96 comments saying that I was a failure to life. And that I would never amount to anything. If I didn't do it he probably would have sent me more

I try my best to be a christian ...however the thing that erks me most is some one claiming to be a christian running around trying to bully people in to beleiveing ,,,and when some one calls thier hand or confronts them ..they run and block people ....If you are not going to allow a return responce then then be quite ..GOD BLESS.

I have had to block some of the more abusive ones who choose to use a lot of profanity and for those who choose to block me......Well they aren't worth my time anyway and I just return the favor and forget about them. : )

It can be, if, however, someone has been repeatedly abusive, vulgar or plain out nasty, then I would block them if they directed that at me. But blocking just because of opinion differences is rather silly.

There are those that just want to vent their anger by senseless cursing and badmouthing others on this site, then as an extra kick in the nuts, blocking their retort effectively duct taping the victims mouth shut. That is cowardly, however there are others who take the crap from the eternally angry, happily and without letting it effect them personally, I myself will block someone when I have had enough of smiling kindly at their inane insults rather than lowering myself to their level, I don't see that as cowardly but I am open to all opinions concerning this type of action. (smiles everyone)

Yes, it is cowardly to block someone simply because you can't counterpoint their arguments. Stalkers, spammers, and general assholes without substance...those are the people to block, but superior debaters are people to learn from, not to run from.

Depends on the Sodahead. If they're willfully ignorant and do nothing but spam your questions with incoherent dribble, then it's perfectly acceptable to block them.

Not, if you are blocking a stalker and it's threatning.Fortunately I've never had to block before. I will never give any cyber bully the satisfaction of knowing they were worthy of a keystroke or click on my mouse because they got to me.

When I block someone it is because they've used profanity, insults and cyber-bully me even after I have warned them that I'm done arguing a moot point and refuse to engage in dealing with the issue any longer. If they keep up the attack mode after I've said it's a done deal, I block them. I don't have to put up with that sort of thing and I won't reduce/subject myself to that kind of abuse. I simply will NOT tolerate it and I don't have to. IMO, that's not beng cowardly but rather refusing to "play insipid, little games".
