Is Antisemitism on the rise?

I don't think Antisemitism,per se is on the rise, but I do think that there is increasing
Anti-Israel sentiment at work ,not only in this country but world wide. Furthermore, I blame this on the ascendancy of Muslim Fundamentalism and a lack of discouragement by the Obama Administration for whatever reason he may have. Obama may think that he will get a pass on this because of traditional heavy support for Democrats by Jewish voters. I hope they will show him this is wrong!

I agree with you on every point except for the point about Muslim Fundamentalism. I think antisemitism (and simultaneously love for Jews) was prevalent in the Middle East (and in the Eastern and Western world) long before people like Ayatolllah Khomeini and Achmedinijad (spelling?) came into power. However, a single part of theocracy, or a religion/culture cannot always be blamed for the evils in this world.

Antisemitism is always around, it comes and goes in its severity.

I don't hate anyone based on race, religion or politics that being said, I am not fond of religion nor politics. To preach hate and murder based on religion is prehistoric and silly. Same can be said about politics but both sleep in the same bed.

I haven't noticed it. I guess in these partisan times, anger with every minority is on the rise. Haters gonna hate.

Anti-Semitism, Anti-Muslim, Anti-Gay, Anti-Immigrant, Anti-EVERYTHING is on the rise, guys! Don't you see it, smell it, taste it every day? It's called FEAR. The economic problems start the fire, and all the hate talk stokes it into a roaring blaze. And selfish bigots stand by smiling as they fan the flames higher and higher hoping it consumes their "enemies" while the whole time it simply CONSUMES everything. But that's okay for them . . .

Well, all I can say is that people are just weak minded. All those who hate the Jews are jealous of their intelligence. Jews are one of the most hardworking and successful people. Most great scientists like Erwin Schrodinger, Albert Einstien and Werner Heisenberg are Jews. I have a lot of respect for the Jews, personally.

So were Irving Berlin, Mel Brooks, Stephen Sondheim, Oscar Hammerstein (of Rogers And Hammerstein fame)'s grandfather, also named Oscar Hammerstein.. Gene Wilder was a Jew, I believe, and Elizabeth Taylor converted (I think). Correct if I'm wrong on anything.

I can't judge because I haven't hear of them myself. But yes, a lot of these great people are Jews. I don't see how one can hate such people unless they're jealous of them.

A huge amount of those Jews were in musical thatre. I'd be surprised if anybody outside those who enjoy theatre/ theatrical community even knew who half these people were.

a couple of points:
first, what's so special about the Old World Order? it seems to be falling apart under its own weight. maybe it's time to try something new. and no, that 'something new' doesn't have to be a bogeyman used to frighten children. aamof, it could be something pretty cool. that depends on all of us - not any one group of people.

that said, "The Jews creating a NWO" in which they would enslave the rest of the world is ludicrous. we've been down this road before. in Medieval times, and basically ever since - right on down to the 1930's and 1940's, this tiny minority was accused of plans to take over the world. and we know where those accusations lead.

trust me, we don't want to go there again. certainly, the Jews and Arabs don't want to go there and - - - neither do the rest of us. I, for one, don't relish the collective guilt the Germans are still struggling with. No, thank you.

Well, I don't hate Jews. I just think they believe in superstitious and mythical nonsense. Like Samson killing a thousand Philistines with a donkey's jawbone? How can they believe this stuff as real history? However, hating people because they believe something isn't what I'm about. I wouldn't think other people hate others for their religious beliefs either. I mean, everyone believes something in the end. :)

I'm Jewish, and I don't think the Bible is real history. And yes, there are some superstitions that aren't grounded in much logic. But aren't there stupid superstitions for every religion and culture?
As for hating religions, I hope nobody else is about that either. It's 100% ignorant, and shows more about the people saying that stuff more than they probably want to show.

Yeah. I know what you mean. Well, I have nothing against Jewish folks. At least they're not strapping bombs to their backs like radical Muslims. It's interesting you don't think the Bible is real history, especially considering you're Jewish. I'm sure that's a rarity in Judaism. :)

Agreed, I know many Muslims, as I do Jews, Christians and such. The fact I want to point out is that what is happening today in America is the very same thing that happened in a very unhappy time in Germany when the Nazis gained power and misused it, as it is being misused here in America today.

Substitute the word Muslim for the word Jew and you see it in the media all the same as you would have in 1939 Germany.

Actually... the whole complaint was "What the Muslims don't own, the Jews do", so it was a double-dose of xenophobia. Maybe I don't watch enough TV, but I see far more of the anti-Muslim rants on this site than anywhere else. The antisemitic quip was just a bonus bit of bigotry yesterday.

The recent Liberal fawning over Muslims has resulted in a backlash against the Jewish people; that, coupled with the obvious distaste for Israel by the Obama Administration, has led me to conclude that antisemitism is now in vogue.

Sorry to inform you they are the very same people, just different religions. We just replaced the term Jew with Muslim.
