I'm a Christian: Any pronouncement of my faith, any desire I have to place a Manger Scene I constructed for our town square at Christmas is met with opposition from City Council in fears of being sued by the ACLU!
I'm Heterosexual: Therefore I'm branded as a "homophobic" for my convictions of "same sex marriage!"
I'm a Texan: Therefore I'm considered a "rebel" that is opposed to some "New World Order" that is being pushed by my country that I don't want!
I'm a Tea Party Patriot: Because I believe as our Founding Fathers, I'm now a "Terrorist that can go to Hell!"
I'm a Believer in Helping My Fellow Man: Not through Govt, but through private donations of my time and money. Therefore, I'm a hater of those who need assistance!
I am all these things which somehow don't seem to be "Politically Correct" anymore. As IF I give a damn about that. I worry NOT for myself, but for the children & grand children I leave behind.
Yet, as satisfied with the life I've dedicated to my God, my Country and my Child...

Yet, as satisfied with the life I've dedicated to my God, my Country and my Children, I'm MAD AS HELL at those who think their lack of such values should be placed above mine! So mad, that I often do indeed start listening to people I've not listened to before! For I've indeed heard ALL the bad things that subversive organizations have done in the past, yet they seem to be so much LESS damning to this Country then what these NEW Socialist people are saying and doing now?
So, I'm watching, I'm waiting and I'm listening like I'm a Patrick Henry, or a Paul Revere or a John Paul Jones! If I am called or when I am called, I will answer and proudly come to the aide of my Country! It is indeed the very least I could leave to those who after me. A Free Republic that will have been fought for twice! Once against England and once against a new Socialists that will be in my cross-hairs should I be called!

Right:
On the right they're the guys who are SURE President Obama is going to declare martial law and take their guns. They almost seem to have an emotional NEED him to come after their guns so they can get a visceral rush from defending them. And these are the same people, however who if he does win (and though it is too early to tell, there is a good chance he will) are going to swear the election was invalid for some reason or another.
Left:
And YES we have them on the left too. On the left they are are (for example) a faction of the OWS people who reject the concept of representative government as a whole. I am sympathetic to OWS. I am very concerned with the pull big money has in my government. I don't begrudge the 1% for doing well for providing some good or service better than anyone else. I begrudge SOME of the them, however for attempts at owning the government and neglecting the commons. If I had to pick between them and the tea party I would lean OWS. HOWEVER, there are some die-hard anarchists in the mix that reject any system of representative government; not just for the OWS moment itself, but for the country as a whole. I cannot get on board with them. Those guys have similar fantasies a "peoples" reb...

All sympathy to SOME of their causes does NOT equate to adherence to ALL of their extremists beliefs. The Tea Party cannot even get a very conservative presidential candidate nominated for the Republican party. And on the left, despite all the ridiculous claims of "socialism" President Obama has been a very centrist Democrat constantly attempting to appease the right. Not only was single payer off the table from the start, but Health care reform didn't even include a public option. It turned out to be the least progressive thing possible short of doing nothing.
So the fringes of the left and the right both have limited influence within others who are sympathetic to them. They are divorced from reality and could in no way produce a Civil-War level schism.
We agree OWS are total nutjobs, but, I haven't seen anything racist from them. Murders? Yes. Rapes? Yes. Drug use? Yes. Defecation in public? Yes. Destruction of public property? Yes. Arson? Yes. Endangering a child? Yes. But racism? No... I don't think I've seen it.
I'm curious... how many of the above have you seen from the tea party?
I was characterizing the fringe element of the right and used an example of people who see a lefty around every corner trying to take their guns away. There are definitely people who almost seem to WANT someone to try take their guns away so they can get the thrill of needing to defend them. I indicated such people tend to live in a fantasy land and only have limited traction with main-stream conservatives
#2 When did I call OWS total nutjobs?
I clearly indicated I relate more to them than the tea party and am sympathetic to many of the same causes. In that very diverse very ill-defined group there is also a fringe element that rejects the very concept of representative government. Those people I cannot get behind at all. Similarly they too tend to live in a fantasy land and only have limited traction with main-stream progressives.
By the way:
The Hillary/UN thing is a red herring used to rile up the 2nd amendment base. After desperately trying to find ANYTHING to make Present Obama out as 2nd amendment boogieman this (completely unsubstantive in regards to effecting American citizens in America) resolution is the best they can do. In any real terms that actually effects American citizens in America the Obama administration has EXPANDED gun rights.
So now onto your points. I don't believe at all that anyone that wants their rights to bear arms wants people to take them away so they can 'get a thrill'. That's just plain nuts.
You didn't call OWS nutjobs - I threw that in (sarcasm). The difference (at least in government, and only government) is that the tea party doesn't believe in no government, that's anarchy; but, they do believe in 'limited government'. Too much government (like what we have) is centric - the opposite of how we were founded.
Lastly, the Small Arms Treaty is not a red herring, albeit, it can't override the Constitution, but that said, since when does this administration care about that?
It could happen tomorrow. Be prepared!
Operation Fast and Furious was a sure botch, Why do you suppose the secret program was put into action in the first place?
Both President Obama and Eric Holder claim they knew nothing of OFF.
However, OFF was initially “Project Gunrunner”. In April 2009, Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder travelled to Mexico to announce the US’s cooperation with Mexico on weapons flowing into Mexico. I actually found this still on the DOJ website. Suggest to download before they realize it’s on there.

Excerpt from Holder’s speech:
Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels. My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion. DHS is making similar commitments, as Secretary Napolitano will detail.
But as today’s conference has emphasized, the problem of arms trafficking will not be stopped at the border alone. Rather, as our experts emphasized, this is a problem that must be met as part of a comprehensive attack against the cartels – an attack in depth, on both sides of the border, that focuses on the leadership and assets of the cartel. This is the type of full-bore, prosecution-driven approach that the U.S. Department of Justice took to dismantle La Cosa Nostra – once the most powerful organized crime group operating in the United States.
With partners like those we have here today, I am confident that together, we will defeat these narcotics cartels in exactly the same way. I am proud to stand with you, and to join you in this fight. Thank you again for inviting me here.
am ready and waiting for them.
