Print newspapers are having a hard time staying afloat, what with the rise of the so-called Internet. But there's one thing the Internet still can't get a hold of -- your nose. The Grimsby Telegraph in Lincolnshire, England infused its Friday edition with the scent of bread. That's right, scratch-and-sniff newspapers. Take that, Internet!
Printing press manager Carl Lawrence told the Metro, "The scent's contained in small capsules which are added to the yellow ink and as the pages move through the press, the plates crush the capsules and the scent is released. As the ink dries it locks in the scent, which is why you have to scratch it to release the smell." The paper's deputy editor is calling it "biggest technological breakthrough for newspapers since colour was introduced." Do you want to get a sniff of the Grimsby, or is it just too weird?

If they did, I bet my dog would be reading the news.
this will only appeal to the little children (who like to play with smells indeed)
someone bored ..
or someone 'under the influence' ..
(let's wait .. bet there's some way that some desperate addict will use to get high off of this)
No sustaining power indeed ... just a slight bump for the amusement factor.
This is an attempt to innovate. But, I think it's a gimmick and not very likely to succeed.
