How tragic. Terrible that the family had to learn the "don't keep a loaded gun where a toddler can get it" lesson like this.

That's sad, this kind of thing has been happening for a long time, yet some people are still stupid enough to keep loaded guns lying around.

he shouldn't have left a loaded gun near the child... guns must be put in a safe place were children can't find and take them.. what's wrong with people these days?

    Very tragic indeed.
Thankfully such incidents are extremely rare.
Children and parents are in far greater danger from cars than guns.

Now you see one of the reasons why I am so deadset against guns. People accidentally get killed by these things, under similar situations. You'll NEVER find a gun in MY HOUSE!

It is indeed a tragic accident.
But why does it happen so often that people leave negligently guns, other arms or dangerous objects within the reach of children?

    Pretty sad..
I don't believe in accidental shootings, its carelessness and/or ignorance.
Lightweight and obviously a light trigger pull..

    My first question is:

What is a gun doing near a baby?

Ok. Answer. The right to bear arms. Fine

    Second question is:

What is a baby doing with a loaded gun?

Answer: The right to be a totally stupid idiot with no common sense.

Better yet: Keep it on your person.

That also is a good idea with your holster fixed so the kid can't accidentally get it.

A kid getting the gun out of the holster you are wearing, wouldn't be an accident, anymore than crossing the centerline while driving is an accident.

    1. Why is there a loaded gun where a 3 year old can touch it and 2. that little boy has to live with this the rest of his life

It's hard to believe a three year old could pull the trigger of a handgun. Maybe it was someone else and they are letting the little one take the fall.
