If it's a world economy as you put it than why are liberals criticizing corporations from going global?
You people need to make up your minds.

Not until we get rid of this incompetent idiot in brief. Even Clinton agrees with that.
The moron even claimed that main stream America was in good shape and when called on it had to reverse his stand, how many times has this idiot stuck his foot in his mouth?

And it has never ended, this would be the "job loss" recovery, March added 69,000 jobs far beneath the necessary 270,000 jobs to provide for a static equilibrium, so if you look at it correctly you could say that we only lost 201,000 jobs in March... Which could actually be incorrect as most of the statistics have been skewed to maintain a level of "irrational exuberance" and encourage consumer spending.

Maybe in the technical sense, but too many people are suffering. I never thought it wad a recession, it seemed more like a depression.

the Keystone pipe line from Canada to Texas would have made 1 million new jobs if not more but Barack Hitler Obama in all his reasoning said he would not allow it to be built until after he got re-elected as resident and now Canada is doing oil trade with China because China wants to do business with Canada the USA just was using that as a political move.

my state is still in employment decline almost worse the freakin California because other states trying to bail those democrat states basterds oout. fing president basterd.

The recession is over merely by the textbook definition of a recession which is two consecutive quarters of negative GDP change. If you believe the government's numbers, and I understand that's a BIG if, we are growing at a rate of 1.9%. If the population growth rate is 2% and the economy is growing less than that, we have stagnated and unemployment will remain high. Wages will not rise fast enough to offset inflation, with the result that the standard of living will drop.

Even if we're not in recession it sure feels like one. I think the growth rate is overstated and we well may slip back into recession this or next quarter. If you are Obama it's going to be a bad time to be you.
  • Ricardo... exhon2009 2012/06/09 22:48:20

But you fail to calculate that the 1.9% is not based upon actual durable goods and increased manufacturing demand but is actually nothing more than inflation of fuel, food and clothing costs which was calculated by some at above 15%... if we subtract this from the numbers provided by Little Timmy Geithner it would put us in the range of a 13.2% economic contraction, which is what I believe to be the empirical circumstance.

GDP is SUPPOSED to be adjusted for inflation.

    http://www.investopedia.com/a...

With this crew reporting, (one has to recall them counting jobs saved due to stimulus), nothing would surprise me.

The adjusted GDP numbers are much like the true unemployment numbers that are skewed to count only those who are receiving unemployment compensation, I actually think the economic advisors believe the people can spend their way out of this recession and are attempting to instil the errant perceptions that inspire irrational exuberance and foolhardy startups.

I wouldn't be so sure about China holding all the cards. Once our economy collapses (and it will with this idiot back in office) China will fall like a rock. China is in the beginnings of an industrial explosion but without the outside markets they are toast, why do you think they lent us the trillion.
What they didn't count on was this idiot squandering the loot and down grading the people that could make things better...us.

First, 0webama is not getting re-elected. One and done.

What China is engaged in is economic warfare. They were counting on 0bama and Gietner (and others) being as dumb as a post about economics and taking the easy way out. They also have aspirations on being the next superpower. To do that they've got to knock us down. They're working on it. Everyday, all the time.

I sure hope you are right about Odimwit not getting reelected, that would show the world just how stupid this country can get. Obama didn't fool me the first time but as you can see people are still hanging on the hope and change promises.
I still think China is hanging on our success.

0webama is done. Even the liberal media is starting to back away. I don't doubt for a minute there'll be massive voter fraud but Ol'bowmao is going to lose by a landslide. The 'cooked' numbers on unemployment is around 8.2%, real uemployment is closer to 19%. The 'misery index' (an oldy but a goody from the Carter administration) is off the scale for almost a 5th of working Americans.

I thought the same thing in 08, I wouldn't be so confident. When people believe in landslides the voter turn out is always lower. We need to keep thinking and working to make sure that idiot does not screw us again like he did the last time.

Depends on how you look at it.

If you owe the bank $100,000 you can't pay you have a problem. If you owe the bank $100,000,000,000 you can't pay, the bank has a problem.
