Unless your a multi national company the it's boom time

The recession will end for the rest of us either when we change the system or begin the depression

I depends on the person situation, you have some people complain with millions in the bank..you have some complain with no real responsiblities (dependents/kids)..and you have some complain that don't even have a roof over their head nor food to eat. I know there's some that can't find a job but for the one's who's been working for years question is where did their money go? Was it on a new car or house they couldn't afford, or that new phone they tend to still find money for? There's actual poverty around the world and people complain about their life in the US. People forget what they've been blessed with.

so what your saying is that we should all start to look at our lives as if we lived in a third world country and accept far LESS than our parents had while still pretending to be happy and rich .....LOL what a strange way of thinking - perhaps we should all model our views on the teachings of the labor leader Castro , he is one of your hero's right ? Castro El Che

No idiot, what I'm saying is we should live off what we earned...not on credit. We give credit for education, cars, houses, consumer goods, anything we want to basically. Where did you even get your idea? The fact I gave was people who had a car when gas reached 4/gallon then it goes down 30/cents and they buy a non-working truck. Then it goes back up and they complain about gas prices...

If I may; the remedy is to accept that technology, politics and sheer numbers of people (and more factors I have not thought of) have changed the total paradigms of what we do and who we are. The jobs model built on a 1950s post WWII model will no longer be adequate. We now live in a world where India's top 2% of their students outnumber our total number of students. We live in a world where the despots are dying out and their replacements on the world's largest continent have already chosen to follow the Chinese advanced lead in commerce and infrastructure with deals the US left laying on the ground for the past 60 yrs. They're learning about Mao and not John Wayne. We're now seeing the results of that decision.

The US has doubled down on pummeling everybody into submission with massive defense spending. That is the wrong model to win hearts and influence friends. The evidence is the gradual decline of the west. Soon, all the missiles in the world are not enough to get a salesman of wash machines in Topeka more sales.

In the meantime, we lose faith in what is a natural progression of our evolution and run to the nostalgic promise of what we once were. When in fact, that entity is already dead. There is a way out. But it requires faith in who we are and what we can do. Instead of lamenting what we no longer have, we need to spend more time embracing what we need to be.

By the usual definition of two quarters of reduced GDP, it is over. That is a weak definition, however. For one thing, a recession should cover periods of reduced real per capita GDP. Only when the economy has recovered to the full real per capital GDP prior to the recession is the recession really over. See the chart below:

It's not; neither by actual definition nor by the apparent experience people are having. This era is perpetuated by the macroeconomic forces that have been permanently altered. In short, the US will not see a serious uptick in jobs and market forces under the current paradigms. This just unfortunately where we are for the forseeable future; no matter who's president. There are jobs that wil NEVER come back and there are 'big box' retailers who won't survive this downturn

When I can afford to pay my employees 20 bucks an hour verses 12bucks. That's when it will be over for me. Right now I have to compete with 2.50 per foot for framing. When the average was 5.00.

maybe they can massage the numbers so that it appears that we are not technically in a recession. But, the economy still sucks and a lot of people are still hurting. That's what counts.

Not until Europe cleans up its mess, then the U.S. has to clean up its mess and finally the Chinese have a lot of financial problems that have to be dealt with. Only after these major factors are dealt with will the recession truly be over with.
But then again in the last four years I've made a killing in the stock market.

I was lucky enough not to be in the stock market prior to the crash so when the crash happened I jumped back in with a vengeance. By the time the stocks recovered most of their value I made from 4X to 8X on them. I got burned when the market crashed in 1987 so I knew exactly what to do this time.

however you used the wrong term .."THE DEPRESSION " isnt over yet ,,," it hasnt even hit bottom yet .. now the factions need the people to believe in a socialistic society !

and until it does we'll ( the country economy & people ) never recover ,, like giving a terminally Ill patient pain meds ..and saying well check on you tomorrow ,,,see how ya feel ..oh and by the way you'll never recover .."you will die "!! the morphine is for pain ,,thats all !

a pathetic excuse for passifying inteligent people ..."some of us are inteligent " some are pathetic followers " ......the followers are programmed !

Not even close. Every time I drive around I see more closed store fronts. If anything, things are still getting worse. Our economy is contracting, not growing. We are not generating enough jobs for all the young people entering the workforce, let alone enough jobs to replace those that we've lost recently. The numbers coming out of our government are lies.

My employer hasn't given out their "across the board" annual raise in four years. Since it's sub-government, I'll know there's a light at the end of the tunnel when the 5% cost of living raises resume.

No, we still have a ways to go. But I believe if we elect Willard and the republicans we will surely slip back into and even deeper recession.
