When it gets right down to it neither of these abominations are fit for any public office! Palin is a quitter and Romney continues to work after he is supposed to quit! If the GOP wants to survive they need to ditch the "Christian" Right and start finding some real candidates else no sane person will ever take them seriously again!

I don't know that I would go so far as to say "I liked it", more than I thought it was a hoot.

romney is all over the place on issues, his financial records have been and are a problem. bain capitol speaks for itself. he really has no charisma and seems stalled. media makes you believe there are only 2 candidates, seems the puppet masters have already decided...

I don't think the video is significant.

Palin was sexy, fresh and added excitement to the campaign. I honestly don't think they vetted her adequately, and it was very apparent that they had made a horrendous mistake after the Couric interview. At least it was clear to the public. The sane public. I don't know when McCain figured it out.

Romney was an "also ran" pick. He's still an "also ran" pick. Nobody actually likes the man, they just hate him a bit less than the others, and they hate obama more. He would have brought nothing to the McCain presidential run.

    anti romney cartoons

Romney's biggest angst if you will, is that during that circus of a primary, he painted himself into such a corner while grovelling to the Right to get their approval, that he has nowhere to go to speak to the main stream republicans without looking like what we know he is.....a flip-flopping, hypocritical panty-waist aristocrat who cannot look beyond his class of the super rich.

I don't believe John McCain actually picked Sarah Palin, she was picked for him. At the time most never heard of Sarah Palin. I bet McCain's campaign managers regret ever choosing her. Palin really acted an idiot while running for VP. It could have been a Democratic spy within the Republican campaign. LOL!

If you ever want to catch a great HBO prsentation, you need to watch "Game Change". McCain's campaign manager Steve Schmitt (who is now a t.v. pundit/analysit) was played by Woody Harrelson and Schmitt has said, the portrayal of the '08 campaign and its vetting or lack thereof of Palin, is played to the "t". (Of course McCain totally disagrees), but in the end some of the staff of that ill-fated campaign didn't even vote they were so discouraged and alarmed at that woman being a heartbeat away from the President. Go figure

A party that can't even nominate someone who could beat Sarah Palin in a contest is in serious trouble of imploding on itself.

I think it is because Mc cain wasn't supposed to win, The establishment wanted Obama. Its the same with Romney, the establishment wants Obama, Romney is not supposed to win

Boy I don't know Teri, if that were the case, I don't think the "establishment" would have fought so hard the other republican party primary candidates. Candidates like Gingrich, Cain, Bachmann, Perry, Santorum would have all been better "choices" to get a drubbing. Romney was supposed to be the most "feared" candidate.

Personally, I thought from the get-go that Huntsman would have been the most likely to have given Obama a hard run. While he's nearly as wealthy as Romney, he's got foreign policy credentials, he's actually walked among the people on Main Street and (gulp), believes that in order to get things done, you do need to compromise. (Which I think was the death knell for his candidacy.)

I just find it strange that after seeing Romney's tax records, McCain decided not to choose him for his VP. I don't know but if Romney released them to a fellow Republican, why would he not release them to a the public since he's running for President? There must be something in them that he doesn't want us to see. Even if there isn't, that's the impression he's giving to the public and will not help him in the election. He's lucky if he even gets the nomination at this point. I've even heard Republicans call for him to release the records. There must be something that the doesn't want revealed to the public. If not, then he's causing himself a lot of grief for no reason.
I always thought that choosing Palin was kind of a "Hail Mary" pass. McCain knew he was losing in the polls and he thought Palin would bring young and vigor and of course attract the female vote.
But, Romney must release his tax records or that will the whole discussion from now until November.

Mitt Romney evaded paying U.S. taxes. Romney has too many negatives in his past history.
    Here are some:

"The former Bain Capital managing director said of Mitt Romney's tenure: "We had a scheme where the rich get richer." {Los Angeles Times [12/16/2007]

"Mitt Romney set up shell companies in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda to avoid U.S. taxes" [Los Angeles Times, 12/19/2007]

"As Governor, Mitt Romney vetoed a minimum wage increase to $8 an hour."
    [The Boston Globe, 08/1/2006]
