IN 2008, Obama vowed to keep trade negotiations completely transparent. But a document leaked last month flatly contradicted that promise. Is the era of government transparency over before it has begun?

huffingtonpost.com:Fast forward to June 13th: A critical document from President Obama's free trade negotiations with eight Pacific nations is leaked online. Its contents reveal a plan to
bestow radical new political powers on multinational corporations,
flatly contradicting his campaign promise. Meanwhile, Congressmen have
complained they lack the degree of access to such documents that
corporate officials receive.

How can the Obama administration be held to account?

Is the era of government transparency over before it has begun?

Who can Americans count on to protect our national interests?

Hoover Dam, the National Parks, our Interstate Highways, the Clean Air and Water Act, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid were all accomplished BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.

When legislation is done openly, nothing gets done. Every politician just starts grandstanding and nothing is accomplished.
We vote for legislatures to legislate, not pander to their base. Congressmen are always making big speeches in Congress on C-Span, but when the camera shifts to the Congressional seats, nobody else is in the room except the camera. That may be transparent, but its just show biz.

Transparency works well on a bumper sticker, but it fails when it comes to negotiations.

My question is: How does the person that posted this from the Islamic Republic of Iran, know anything about transparency?
