Liberals didn't slam Sarah Palin for not being a stay-at-home mom. Liberals slammed Sarah Palin for being a corrupt, incompetent, fundamentalist wingnut that didn't understand the most basic facts regarding:
US History, Politics, Geography, Reading Comprehension, Social Policy, Foreign Policy, and the Constitution. And normally we liberals wouldn't make a fuss over a loudmouth ignoramus not taking the time to understand the basics of these things, but she happened to be picked for the Vice Presidency of the United States on the GOP ticket, so we thought it was sort of important. Sorry for raising the bar on you guys like that...

We didn't bash Palin for not being a stay-at-home mom. That would have been ridiculous. We made fun of her for being a BAD mother. It's a totally different thing. She was a bad mother because she exploited her kids, and particularly Bristols pregnancy. Not to mention the fact that her "abstainance-only" approach to sex-ed is probably part of the reason Bristol GOT pregnant.

The scenario you presented in your title is factually untrue. We didn't care about her not being a SAHM. Our concern was about her possibly being one heartbeat away from the presidency when she was not prepared for those responsibilities.

They slammed Palin for being unprepared and an egomaniac. But the stay at home thing was not the issue. Spare me. Give me a link that anyone attacked her for not staying at home, other than to safeguard the USA from her if she had been elected, and of course she was not. Politicians tale aim at whatever group suits them. It's not a liberal, conservative, Republican or Democratic tool - it's all of them. She was calling her out for saying she understands women's issues economically when she has not had a paying job that was supporting her and her family like other women do. She used a poor choice of words but her comments had nothing to do with her being a stay at home mom.

When Hilary Rosen, in an interview with Anderson Cooper, said “Guess what? His (Romney's) wife has actually never worked a day in her life.” she was not attacking conservative women or stay at home moms. The fact is that Mrs Romney, although a very decent human being and probably a very nice person, never has had to worry about earning an income. Neither has her husband. They are both working very hard to become the next residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Then they'll have somewhere else to stay when their other 3 or 4 residents need redecorating.
$45 million dollar income!

It should be obvious by now that for every conservative mom who chooses a career in the business sector there is a liberal leaning mommy choosing to stay at home. We respect each other - and most of us we are getting pretty tired of manufactured conflict.

Come to think of it - we are just plain TIRED!

Palin? I certainly would have preferred Palin at home rather than in office ANYWHERE. But the hard time she got was for her stupidity and her policies (such as they were). I'm not counting the comedians - that's for another poll.

Ann Romney? Well, it's true: she hasn't been in the work force. Why this truthful statement is seen as being a slam by those who take pride in being home-makers (I include house-husbands among that group) I really don't know.

Well, you should maybe go to Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) of Alaska and see what she said about the Blunt Bill. She voted for it and much to her dismay she had to apologize and grovel at her female constituents feet which included a boatload of pubs. Olympia Snow became so frustrated with the Far Right's position on women that she finally just gave up and is quitting the Senate.

There may very well be "millions of women who share the Gopper's views" but there are millions more who don't. That 20% spread between O and Willard isn't coming from just the Left.
