Obama is systematically deconstructing the constitution. He has his hooks in the first amendment now.....

That's the whole idea. Misdirection and distraction.
    That's SOP for both parties.
When Sandy hit all they talked about was how heroic the first responders were and how bad a storm it was. Nobody mentioned how unprepared and incompetent govt response was despite billions in Homeland Security. Only now have they finally released funds to help the victims. It's disgraceful
Nobody wants to deal with the real issues and they're not trying to fix anything.

I voted for what are our priorities! ! ! Both of our political parties are to occupy about winning elections than governing. WE THE PEOPLE are not during our job by demanding our political representatives to focus on helping businesses whether small or large to created and developed jobs. When all Americans can fine affordable employment everything else will fall in it proper place.
  • Tuna Charles... 2013/01/29 22:43:34
Amazing that they DO win elections isn't it? If we could only replace them ALL today.

Unemployment is declining, and the economy is recovering - stock prices on the NYSE are soaring. And health care reform is going to benefit more and more Americans.
  • Tuna JCD aka... 2013/01/29 22:45:40
Unemployment is MUCH higher than the numbers they publish; have you bought groceries lately? inflation is setting in just like Carter days. Stock market is up because so many corporations are gone, broke; that makes averages go up. Healthcare is another entitlement,we can't afford the ones we have.

Brown is not up for reelection; the Ryan budget was 2010; the House passed another for 2011, sent to the Senate included the Connie Mack "penny plan". The Senate won't take it up.

Gun Control will save lives. So that is important.

Family unification and immigration are a part of jobs. We need amnesty because the society would be disrupted and the economy damaged without it. We would loose jobs.

Yes Jobs should be the #1 issue. Jobs are more important then the deficit. Cutting spending cuts jobs. It makes us less safe. Look at Milwaukee where Scott Browns budget cuts not only cut jobs they also forced the police chief to admit he can't protect people.

Look at Europe. Greece gets worse every year. Spain is in a protracted depression. Italy is on the verge of disaster. England was saved by spending on the Olympics, but that's over and the economy is faltering. Jobs are going away by the droves. That is the one certain affect of budget cuts. What seems equally likely is that government revenues will go down faster then the cuts and thus the deficits will rise.

In the US we have made the education system to expensive. Thus we are forced to use H1bs - imported workers to fill higher paying jobs. The "documented" workers are the real immigration danger. These are the people taking jobs.

Free trade has not worked. It has just resulted in the export of US jobs. The simple fact is the only country nutty enough to believe in it is the US. It is time for a little protectionism to protect US jobs.

Every time in history when a POTUS lowered taxes and spending the economy took off; the unemployment rate fell, revenues to the government increased; EVERY TIME. Every time the Dems get in, raise taxes, expand government just the opposite. This is not NEW; it happens EVERY TIME Dems get control. Clinton was headed in the same direction as Obama until the voters put the republican revolution of 1994 into action; the DotCom boom took off, full employment (95%+) because of a balanced budget (cuts), lower spending, and less government. The only exception was capitalist JFK who imposed the same principals of lower taxes, less spending, and smaller government but he wasn't a progressive and we know what they did to him..
  • sbtbill Tuna 2013/01/29 18:42:52
Lowering taxes as Obama did on lower income folks does tend to be stimulative.

Let's see Hoover cut spending - Great Depression was the result.
FDR first term increased spending we get recovery.
FDR second term tries to balance budget we get a return to recession
FDR third term WWII explodes spending fantastic recovery
Truman with Republican congress cuts spending = recession
Truman gets rid of Republican congress things get better.
Eisenhower spends on freeways and infrastructure - prosperity of the 50's
Kennedy simplifies tax code and starts space program - things are pretty good
LBJ gets most of JFK's plan enacted. Prosperity continues.
Nixon well at least he gave us EIC
    Ford a little more Nixon
Carter a fiscal conservative Democrat We get Volker and the worst recession since 1929.
Reagan cuts taxes for the wealth - no body else. Spends like a drunken sailor we get the prosperity of the 80's. Oh yes he dumped Volker.
Bush 1 - What do you expect from someone who called Reaganomics voo do economics.
Clinton - Benefited from Reaganomics and the internet take off Lucky
Bush 2 - Proved electing a total incompetent who liked war was a really bad idea
Obama - Moderately fiscally conservative Democrat who keeps trying to cut corners and has a self destructive House to work with. Anything is better then Bush and Romney.

Nope history says you are wrong.
  • Tuna sbtbill 2013/01/29 19:18:39
Progressive revisionist history; the Depression was caused by the NEW Federal Reserve creating a debt/credit crisis; turned a recession into Depression; THE FED. FDR spending prolonged the Depression until WWll spending took 100% of GDP. Truman suffered from war spending lull, always a recession following war. Carter WAS a conservative until he got to D.C. Reagan tax cuts were across the board; Bush 41 a fiscal socialist. Clinton, RIGHT, he did nothing just left it alone.Obama can not even spell conservative; $6.5T in new debt; $1.5T per year deficits and once again letting the FED control his destiny like FDR did.
  • sbtbill Tuna 2013/01/29 19:29:01 (edited)
Nothing revisionist about my history. It has been standard since the 50's.

i lived in the 80's. 1) Reagan did a major tax cut. 2) Reagan doubled FICA taxes. If you were earning less then the cut off which was true for about 90% of the population the FICA tax increase ate up the tax cut or more so no tax cut for most people.

Carter was complaining about the deficit every year he was in office. I heard him. He even made a big deal about turning off lights and wearing sweaters to save on energy. While I'd say Carter was the most honest and decent President we've ever had he was a Fiscal Conservative.
  • Tuna sbtbill 2013/01/29 19:33:58
Carter WAS a conservative, christian, southern governor with high marks from both sides. Carter was picking his cabinet when Teddy and other progresives told him to stop; they would pick his cabinet for him. Carter was endoctrinated int the club. FDR did the same things Obama is doing, prolong the agony. If not for his provoking Japan into attacking us, his depression wouldn't have ended and he wouldn't have been able to assist his buddy Stalin.

    What ARE our priorities
Our priorities is Jobs and the Economy! Gun control is an after burner topic. You can't stop it.
But Jobs. Bringing back factories from the Communist China sell out of the beginning of the millenium is utmost. Or tax the hell out of them so new, more clever entrepenuers can thrive.
We do not want to "survive". We want to thrive.....Got it?
Not paying attention to jobs and the economy is the same thing that the other candidates promised.
No flim-flam here. Get to work! No more side-shows. Bring on the 12 million jobs suggested by the GAO as inevitable.
We are waiting. Impatiently. After the last 10 years we are fed up about helping the rich.
