When you think about it, there are very few people in America who don't descend from illegal immigrants. At least today's illegal immigrants aren't trying to kill us off and steal our land.....

What part of ILLEGAL is not understood??....therefore, they should not LEGALLY be entitled to anything. It would be great if we enforced our existing immigration laws and immediately deported all these ILLEGALS.

Illegal, unlawful, illegitimate, illicit, criminal can all describe actions not in accord with law.

Illegal and invaders. They break 4 laws when they come here without papers or permission.

Many of them came in violation of our laws. All of them are here in violation of our laws.
Therefore, they are all criminals.

Many of them have no intention of ever holding allegiance to the US, whether they stay or return to some other country, so they are not immigrants.

Why not invaders? Because they illegally break into our country with no intention of being invasive, that part comes later, when they figure out that our government allows and encourages them to be invasive.

Here is the thing. You cannot blame dandelions for trying to grow in your fertilized lawn. You can only blame the person responsible for your lawn who allow the dandelions to grow and take over your grass.

Good analogy re: dandelions and I agree with you re: the egghead politicians who make it ripe for an invasion of immigrants but I also can't help but take note of the fact the those who are crossing our borders ARE breaking the laws by coming here "illegally", intending to do just that... come here illegally and continue to enhance their illegal existence once here with theft, fraud, deception, etc. So, in short they are invaders... criminals... and not always "simple" criminals.

You do make an argument though. I simply happen to disagree with you on some of it. And I'm sorry if I came across like the ornery cuss I can be at times but I was trying to make a point... not the best way I guess.

Illegal immigrants are not the problem; the people who encourage illegal immigration and cater to illegal immigrants are the problem. Sanctuary cities are the best example of it.
Imagine the place where pick-pocketing is not against the law but treated as a job and when a pick-pocketer cannot make a living from picking pockets, he or she gets unemployment check. This is where we are. We said that we are not against pick pocketers. Who would you blame for that situation? Pick-pocketers or the people that say that pick-pocketers are an essential fabric of our society since as long as our nation exists; there were always pick-pocketers.
To make a long story short. It is not the dandelion's fault that it wants to grow in the more fertilized ground. It is the gardener's fault that allows it to grow where it want. I think you get it.

I mean both A&B.; Anyone employing them should be heavily fined. Then they will self deport.

Im surprised that there are so many ignorant people here on SodaHead. And why is it that when you think of illegals, many automatically think of Mexicans? Not all illegals come from Mexico. Stop keeping your minds so closed and think rationally for once.

We do, they are the largest number and the most vocal and demanding. And when you have the Government suing states because they won't do their job, Schools pushing mexican national anthem/pledge in our schools, telling American students not to wear American themed shirts/hats etc because the illegals might get offended somthing is wrong.

They are immigrants, but they are illegal immigrants; there's a difference. I know quite a few people who came here legally, went through the proper channels and became legal citizens of the US.

Unfortunatly we have made it very hard for people from Central and South American countries to come here legally leading to many more people trying to cross the boarders illegally in order to save their family or make some sort of life for themselves. In the past, when it was not as hard to come here legally, there was less illegal immigration but more legal immigration.

When you say in the past, how far back are you referring to? I know people who've come here within the past couple of years via legal channels from a number of countries including some in Central and South America.

First and foremost they are people. Secondly it's are own government that is turning them into criminals. What kind of message do you give some one when you don't build a fence and give incentives to get over here .Fix the border , problem solved

Bocephus... yeah they are people. But how in the hell did you turn this around and make the U.S. the bad guy here??? Sure the borders are porous as all get out but they're still borders... marked, depicting international boundaries... borders. They'll cross the borders fence or not! They'll climb it, tear it down, tunnel under it, swim the river (or wade it... depending), etc. The fact that there's no fence and the fact that life is better for them on our side of that border doesn't constitute giving them "incentives" to illegally invade our country, steal our jobs, health care, etc. Break into our homes, kill our children, etc. We have enough criminals on our streets without having to import them from other countries. Turning a blind eye doesn't work.

Effective enforcement does. That includes prosecution. Throw their asses in jail for a couple of years if they're repeat offenders, put them to work on a work crew while in jail and then bill them for room and board while they were locked up before we send them home. If we start treating them like the criminals they are then they'll think twice about crossing that border.

We don't need to treat them like criminals. That wont help world relations. Mexico is a close ally let's keep it that way. Best thing to do is build a fence and stop giving them money , education , and homes. Then they will leave peacefully.

America is partially to blame . Give people a free ride , easy jobs, and good living and they will come from all around. Get rid of incentives. Problem solved. Putting them in prison is a bad idea and cruel.
