If You Have an Income, Listen Very Carefully to Barack Obama

angelbaby 2012/07/10 18:18:52
In his remarks at the White House yesterday President Obama Called for extending Bush tax breaks for another year -- at least for certain taxpayers, those earning less than $250,000 per year.  Apart from the continued exacerbation of class warfare in pitting "the middle class" against "the wealthy," a more deadly nuance lurked in his words.

Twice in his brief speech he pointed out that we need to enact this cutoff because "we cannot afford to spend on tax breaks for the wealthy."  Those words should frighten and arouse anyone who has an income.  They are not ill-chosen words; they are a look into the very political and economic heart of the current president and his regime.  Allowing income earners to keep a portion of their money is considered by them to be spending by the government.  In other words, all of your money is theirs to spend.  They spend it on their special programs, their cronies, their allies and their adoring lapdogs.  They spend some of it on the producers in order to keep the well flowing.

Government has no money to spend except what it confiscates from those whose labor and intelligence produce wealth.  A tax reduction is not government spending except in the convoluted sense of socialist elitists who believe they own everything and they alone know what and in what quantity is best for the masses.

Government is necessary and valuable.  Its primary functions are to restrain evil, maintain internal peace and order, and keep its citizens secure.  It needs to encourage individual liberty and personal responsibility. The details of how these are accomplished are matters of legitimate debate.  One thing not subject debate is what government owns. It owns nothing.     ~ Gary Burk

Obama knows that half the people are stupid and he thinks he only has to fool enough conservatives into believe his tax break BS it will save his ass. What good is a tax break going to do for the 49% that don't have to pay any tax.If he was to tax the rest at 100% he would only raise enough money in a year to last 8.5 days.He knows this whole tax thing is only BS and he knows the liberals are falling for it hook, line and sinker.

Has anyone out there, old enough to remember, ever seen ANY tax increase that went to pay down the debt? I'm not talking about revenue taken in by taxes taken in from robust employment (as under Reagan and Clinton) but high tax rates. When they were rates of 70% and 90% it did nothing to pay down the debt. If is did go to pay it down, why is it over $16T today? $800B over a decade is $80B a year which is 8.5 days of government spending. or 2.3% of the year. However, taking $80B out of the economy from business is a LOT of money to lose. The rich will always have more because they have wealth. Wealth is not taxable, income is, so you're not PUNISHING the rich, you're punishing the workers who work for the rich.

The rich have the capacity to pass the loss of revenue onto others and then middle-class and poor directly suffer from these "price corrections".
Think about it. When McDonald's has to pay more for their cheese, do you think they just eat it? No, they raise prices. A tax increase is no different than cheese costs.

On the bottom line all there is to look at is the margin. When the margin shrinks, the company corrects it by raising prices. That's about as simple as you can put it

If anyone thinks, after all this garbage that he fed to the slobbering subsidy seekers foaming at the mouth at his tax payer campaign speech ,that the tax cuts are going to stay in place after a year if he`s re elected. You`re in for a big surprise. Its just the rich right now after a year you will all be digging in your pocket, There are plenty of places they haven`t seen on vacation and yes libbies you gonna pay for it.

I have an income, and I do listen to Obama carefully. I don't think it's a travesty that the rich should pay taxes. Were it up to me, anyone making more than $350,000 a-year would be paying anywhere from 40% to 45%, and that would be the cutoff.

No, because they can afford it. Who says they're smarter and more ambitious? I don't see any of them out there digging ditches, picking produce, paving roads, or any other labor intensive jobs. I'm not the one who outsourced many jobs overseas. If someone makes $350,000 a-year and gets taxed 45%, that still leaves them $192,000 in return.

What happens then is the taxpayer leaves and takes their money with them to invest in a low tax country. Goodbye American jobs.

That's what the GOP wants you to think. That's also why I think they should charge an expatriation tax as well. As far as goodbye American jobs, all the outsourcing that started under Reagan you have to thank for that.

Ok, so where's the incentive for those who don't earn that much to go ahead and put the work in or invest to earn more money for the same eventual profit? That makes no sense whatsoever, especially when you consider that the government is HIGHLY inefficient in spending and nearly half of all taxes get wasted and we have absolutely ZERO say where that money goes. Also to consider is that the government has no authority to be in the private market. Protection yes, investing, no! That's our job

Obama will have to run that by Jeffery Immelt and I don't think he will like it so it won't happen.

White House defends embrace of G.E. CEO despite report company didn't owe taxes in 2010
Mr. Obama's choice of Immelt came under scrutiny Friday in the wake of a front-page story in the New York Times reporting that despite $14.2 billion in worldwide profits - including more than $5 billion from U.S. operations - GE did not owe taxes in 2010.
In fact, the story said, G.E. claimed a tax benefit of $3.2 billion.

That's what Romney and Ryan said. That's what the Republicans want (instead of raising tax rates.) The Republicans always get the blame for being greedy and evading taxes (which Romney never did) but the Democrats that do id (Immelt, Rangel, etc.) simply walk away and are never blamed. Google Immelt and his exporting jobs to Mexico and China. He also gave up on windmills (wind turbines) in the Pacific. Why? Too costly and no return on their investments. This is all going on right under Obama's nose. Does he ever point the finger it Immelt? LOL No.

If the Republicans wanted that, they'd have done it by now instead of giving tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs overseas and having offshore banking accounts. You keep cherry picking the information.

There are NO tax breaks for outsourcing jobs.
There is nothing wrong or illegal about having offshore accounts.

Very anti-American because I know our country has serious problems that I don't ignore? Sorry if I hurt your feelings when I said that, but the only things we rank number one in now is defense spending and incarceration.

We spend more money on defense than all the other world powers combined (including China.) We put people away for life just for having drugs, yet our health care system doesn't even rank in the top 30. Our education isn't even in the top 20 anymore.

Sorry if you find these statistics un-American, but we're no longer the greatest nation on Earth like we were at one time. We have the highest income disparity of all the developed nations, and we're the only first world country that DOES NOT have universal health care. Our country rots from the core, yet you ignore the problem.

Oh yeah! I don't care what you think of me. I have Asperger's Syndrome which is a mild form of autism. I also grew up with a lisp because I had a gap between my two front teeth, and I kept Asperger's a secret the entire time I was in the military even when it interfered with my performance all while my superiors browbeat me day in and day out for not being perfect. There's nothing you can say to me that I haven't heard before, woman!
