Oh yeah Democrats, the party of the "working people", what a crock! They never learn that when you hurt people who are willing to invest time and money to create jobs, you damage those who are looking for employment.

obama's reckless spending certainly didn't help at all.

They just want to waste more money by arguing. I am fed up with politicians in general. I saw an honest lawyer (that is a rarity), run for office in the 90s. He went broke. Most of them look at a term in office as a free for all.

Greeks earning 42,000 Euros to be taxed at top rate under plan

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greeks earning more than €42,000 ($55,000) per year will now be taxed at a new top rate of 42 percent, under a major new tax reform bill submitted to the country's parliament late Thursday.

Under the new guidelines, the 42 percent top tax rate and earnings threshold replaces the previous level of 45 percent for incomes above €100,000 ($130,770). The new rate is part of a simplification of the country's tax rules. There are currently eight tax bands ranging from 18 percent to 45 percent. These will be replaced by three tax rates: 22 percent, 32 percent and 42 percent.

But the successive hikes in taxes, required to meet deficit-cutting targets, have hammered the economy, pushing unemployment up to 26 percent, and with more than 20 percent of the population now officially living in poverty — earning less than €7,200 ($9,420) per year.

Honestly I can't lump them all together and blame the Democrats as a whole. I place the greatest load on blame squarely on the shoulders of the top Demon-ocrat and that is the self-appointed KING in the oval office.

Since they are not really concerned with getting the government spending under control.

Obama put forth a proposal with No spending cuts and taxing only the rich which would only support the current spending for 8 days......And then said he wouldn't budge on it. Yeah sure sounds like working with the other side... (SARCASM!)

THE REPUBLICANS! Sooner or later that are going to have to WAKE UP to the fact that the 1-2% wealthiest are GOING to have to pay a BIT more!

That 1-2% are mostly democrats, let em pay....won't happen democrats write the tax code.

The libbies are already scurrying about stashing their money. Cases in point . . .Obama donor and CEO of Google and the hypocrite Warren Buffett.

They already pay "a bit" more. They pay more than a "bit" more than some who pay nothing, and they pay a lotta "bit" more than some who pay nothing AND get money back. The extra "bit" won't put a dent in the debt. It is just an excuse for Obama to point fingers at Republicans and accuse them of doing what HE is doing. And Obama continues to increase our debt through expansion of food stamps, unemployment and government jobs, while demanding a higher debt ceiling and threatening to raise it unconstitutionally through the magic of his own little dictatorship. ( remember this attack started on "the 1%") This is also a way for the little dictator to get the crowbar in. Once tyranny is accepted, try to stop it from including you in the percentile that needs to be robbed.

President Obama is not being a leader. He is being obstinate. It is obvious with a $16 trillion debt, cuts are going to have to be made.

They are all getting ready for their nice holiday vacations too! Every last one of them.

If you listen to the regular talking heads you would think the GOP is holding America hostage. The fact is the ransom is going to the bottomless pit the Democrats have created for this country

Well duh. Its Obama. He said himself he does not want to negotiate the debt limit.

Both sides refuse to look at the main drain on funds, themselves. Their "pet projects" their office budgets, their pension packages and retirement benefits.

Entitlement spending needs to be cut......... otherwise, there is no solution.

Quibbling on both sides leads to not closely watching the road ahead, hence, driving off the cliff....*sigh...* .

Well lets see, who currently is serving in the Three Branches of Government? Well that seems to be Democrats and Republicans, there is your answer.

They would rather go over the cliff so they can blame Republicans. They care not about country.

But then, they KNOW that taxes need to rise. So, if they hold off until the end of the year, they wont need to compromise, the taxes will rise on everyone anyways, without the cuts on the rich that Obama wants.

In short, the Republicans "win" America loses.
And their party will still think that the "Pubs fought the good fight, and won.

The American people; for electing the garbage that stinks up Washington; ALL OF THEM..

They have not come up with any budget cuts. I recon that they want the house of cards to fall. They can't negociate a deal without putting something on the table.
