If the Supreme Court rules it is unconstitutional for the government to mandate health insurance, would this make all state laws mandating auto insurance unconstitutional?

Buying auto insurance is not a mandate. Filing a bond with the DMV for $35,000 is a sufficient alternative.

However, the precedent for mandate has been in place for years in the form of FICA which pays for your retirement plan and senior health insurance. Republican agenda is to turn that mandated FICA payment for senior health care over to the private insurers so indeed it would be identical to the Affordable Care Act's mandate.

There is no federal mandate to force people to buy auto insurance.
