If the only purpose of science is to cause Christians to doubt their faith, isn't it unconstitutional for the government to fund science?

Everything in the Bible has been refuted by science. The US government is the #1 funder of scientific research in the world. By spending public funds on science, the US government has set up a de facto official state religion. Isn't this a violation of the separation of church and state?

It's Freedom OF Religion, not Freedom FROM Religion.

My Founding Fathers had Bibles in schools, national prayers, 10 Commandments on federal buildings, etc. That's the concept of freedom, everyone gets to express theirs. You don't get that when it's banned. Too bad we have corrupt politicians. Anyway, yeah, for many people science (and government) is their religion.

What I'm saying is that, if we were following the wishes of the Founding Fathers, all of this would be allowed in schools, if you're really interesting in investigating truth and knowing the real meaning of freedom. Btw, no, not everything.

Evolution should be in schools,religion should not be at all it is a personal thing and as such should be taught in a church,temple,synagogue or home but not school.

It's freedom. Period. But freedom stops at the boundary between your rights and those of others. Religion cannot accept that boundary, for in order to survive, any religion must work to assimilate everyone until there is no one left to examine its lies and compare them against reality.

As such, religion is the enemy of freedom, but not all of the founding fathers were evolved enough to see it.

You are right about that. It should be "Almost everything in the bible that CAN be measured against reality and HAS been measured against reality has been refuted by the comparison." There are exceptions, of course. Egypt existed and had a Pharaoh.

the purpose of science is discovery and the breaking down of barriers to knowledge- religion is not important enough to be 'the only purpose' scientists are too busy to think about crap like that
