If the "N Word" is so bad and offensive, shouldn't African Americans stop using it so much?

Another Black post and a whiny person. Number one 42 million Black people don't use the word N*gger, so your question is moot. Do some use it? Yes and others don't.

In addition who gives a crap, say the word N*gger if you want to so badly. White people like you need to stop b*tching and crying over it. In addition I'm not an African American genius, that term is pertained to people who have recently come from Africa, which crosses racial lines.

Funny; I rather whine and cry about not saying the word N*gger, than having to face real discrimination.

It all depends on the context. Some comedians use it and are not funny. Dave Chapelle has done some truly funny and ironic sketches based on that word alone. The truth is anyone at anytime can use any slur they choose to. There is no law against it. I don't use it because I think it is a truly vile word. That is my choice. Whether some rap star uses it in a song or Mr. Smith down the street uses it in conversation has no bearing on my decision.

Ive often wondered how people like Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. would feel knowing that all the blood, sweat and tears they had shed went toward the freedom for black people to run around calling each other N***r, anyone using that term toward another might as well be a racist because they use their terminology.

Yes, they most definitely should cease and desist its use since the word is supposed to be so offensive to an entire race of people. When they use it themselves it almost sanctions its usage, and that's not good. I was soooo lucky to have grown up in my household. We never used that word EVER. We were military, overseas a lot, but I can honestly say that I am 65 years old and my folks have been gone for about 15 years or so now, my sister since '89, and I do not recall ever hearing any of them (or myself) ever utter the "N" word. Amazing, isn't it? I don't like it regardless of who says it, period.

How do you expect 42 million people of ANY race or different mindsets to agree on anything.? That applies to ALL ethnic group not just BLACK people. I am Black I hate the word and I don't use it but another Black guy you might encounter may use it as a "TERM of Endearment" I don't like it or consider it a term of endearment but that's just me and my mindset I can't I control his He is an INDIVIDUAL!!! Why is that so hard to understand? It's not fair to hold ANY race accountable for the actions of another just because the pigmentation of their skin happens to match. If you want to say the word..... just say it who is stopping you?

And I'm suggesting that is a waste of time.... just look at the thread SOME may totally agree with you. (Yes, he's right they should stop saying it) Others may not ( No, it is just a term of endearment) and that is just a few people compared to 42 million across the country. And we have bigger issues facing us than a word that REALISTICALLY THINKING..... isn't going anywhere... tis pointless to debate its usage anymore

It's not the word it's about freedom. The word is offensive and there is no need to use it but it's a wedge to divide us. We should quit dwelling on why we are different and concentrate on why we're the same.
