If the mandate is overturned as unconstitutional will Massachusetts have to repeal it too?

You need to read the Constitution regarding States rights to create their own laws. The question has no valid basis.

    I honestly don't know.
what I do know is that my friends in Massachusetts HOPE it won't.
I have numerous friends who used to live here in Florida but who chose to return to MA full time specifically BECAUSE of the current health care there.

    Florida's is abysmal, jfwiw.
f'rinstance, in the state with the largest elderly population, most insurance companies don't cover osteoporosis. go figure. in MA, by contrast, it's required.

No, because under the Constitution, states are allowed to make their own STATE laws which are completely separate from the Federal level.

In order for 0bozocare to be Constitutional, Congress would first have to pass an amendment and then be ratified by 3/4 of the states, dictating that the Federal govt. had authority to force citizens to purchase a particular product or service.

yes I see: you're a citizen of a state more than a citizen of a country. Odd, but whatever.
    Thanks!

It was set up that way on purpose because the founders believed in a LIMITED Federal govt. .... not the monstrosity that it has evolved into over the years.

Ever notice how we are the only Nation to refer to our individual 'states' as..... states?
That's because the founders saw the United States of America to be many smaller governments that shared a common goal of protecting our borders and have only the amount of Federal guidelines necessary to achieve that.

They never envisioned what we have become.

so what does unconstitutional mean then? A nation's unconstitutionality doesn't trickle down to states? That's weird.

yes I see that, but it makes one wonder what being a citizen of the US really means.
It seems you're citizens of a state, rather than a country.
