I can't compare him to Bobby Kennedy because I don't know enough about Bobby Kennedy to make a fair comparison, but I know the Kennedy family is backing Barack Obama whole-heartedly, as are a great many other people including myself. He's also winning in this poll, although I'm not sure by how much. The option of a negative vote makes a pretty big difference in the outcome. As of right now, Barack Obama has the second most votes against him in this poll, with a gross count of 28 negative votes (to be subtracted from his 43 positive votes) with John McCain having the most negative votes at a gross negative vote count of 41 (to be subtracted from his 12 positive votes) so that not counting any write-in votes that might be for or against one of them, Barack Obama is leading with a net vote count of 43 - 28 = 15 to John McCain's net vote count of 12 - 43 = -31, or in other words the net results show a balance of 15 votes FOR Barack Obama to 31 votes AGAINST John McCain at this time.

Under None of the Above.... as write-ins. I would have included more options but the poll creation interface has it's limitations. Also, I did make another 2008 poll similar to this one but with different choices, and another done in a different (and more limiting) style.... but there again I had to pick a maximum 10 of them.

I am still learning about Barack Obama. I am reading his book, and watching all the news channels. He was an unknown when he started running for President. There were plenty of rumors circulating out there, among the bits of truth. McCain is the only other candidate that I know about. I will take a look at those sites that you put on your comment too, TechnoZeus.

    TechnoZeus
Most of the rumors were started since he began running for President. He was really not as much of an "unknown" as the news makes him out to be. Barack Obama was simply not on the same level of name recognition as say for example a former First Lady of the United States or a former Vice Presidential nominee or someone who had already run a presidential campaign.

I was supporting Barack Obama long before his campaign started. He was apparently asked by others to run for president even before I knew who he was, and even when I went into his office and asked his people to get him to run, I had never seen what he looked like nor heard him speak... I was going strictly based on my research which I had done to determine who I would like most to present with my electoral reform idea.
I may have even talked with him back then and not realized with whom I was talking.... not likely, but I'm saying... I knew who he was and what he stood for, but wouldn't have recognized him if he was staring me in the face... but he already had many people way back then who wanted him to be our next president and I was one of them.

That was a good explanation of your position. Thanks. I didn't know that he was thought to be Presidential material long before his campaign started.

    TechnoZeus NZArkie... July 02, 2008 03:35:54

Yes... people were begging him to run. He even made a comment at one time that he would not be "comfortable" running for president in 2008 because he felt that in order to have a chance of winning he would essentially have to begin campaigning before having served even a day in the U.S. Senate, and he wanted to be sure that he knew what he was doing. He has also stated since that he is only running now because of how important it is that we change things for the better right away. Another thing that he has commented on since then is that he was not sure a campaign could be won the way he is running this one. Politicians have accepted for far too long long that in order to win they have to compromise their integrity, accept money from the very organizations that they would like to fight against (and end up owing them in some way) and look for ways to slander their opponents. Barack Obama decided that if he was going to try this at all, he was going to do it right and put his faith in the American people to as a whole show the intelligence, wisdom, and integrity to also do what's right. So far, we have not let him down... and neither has he let us or himself down.

Mark me down for Baldwin as well. I have a few disagreements with him, but he's miles closer than the resto of the nominees for the other parties.

For Nevadans: Mr. Baldwin WILL be on the ballot in Nevada, but in Nevada, he is the nominee of the Independent American Party of Nevada, which is affiliated with the Constitution Party (National). I'm not sure why the different name.

    4 Pack:

I just caught that you're saying your vote WOULD go for Chuck Baldwin. How about it WILL go for Chuck Baldwin? We're never going to break out of this 2 party system if we keep throwing in the towel and voting for Republicans or Democrats. So you lose the election. You'll be able to hold your head high for the next 4 - 8 years, and know that you helped these parties implode, or better yet change to fit their constituencies. We need to start being motivated by human moral conscience instead of math. Don't buy into the fear spread so prolifically by the major parties. Vote for who you believe will do the most for the country. It's your right to vote Libertarian, Green, Constitution, or even Communist. This is our country. We CAN have it back. But not by just saying it. We must DO it. Be true to yourself, and your God given conscience. Don't settle for second best. Settlers stopped when they saw the Rocky Mountains, and said, "this will do". Pioneers kept going.

    Peace my friend,

    Steve

Steve, I've given it a lot of consideration. Like you, I'm fed up with both parties. The democrats are not an option for domestic or foreign policy, not to mention the social agenda. The Republicans continue to stray from their roots. I think you are 100% correct. I'll use my vote to send a message this year. It's time the government were back in the hands of the people.
