If the ban on gays was lifted in the Boy Scouts Organization and your son was a Boy Scout, would you allow him to stay?

While I don't agree with lifting the ban, the scouting program is a an amazing resource for developing strong leadership for the future of this country. There is no check box on any form or application, adult or youth, that asks for sexual orientation. We have been involved in scouting for over ten years with our oldest about to become an Eagle scout. My husband is an Eagle scout, which I strongly feel has made him the wonderful man and father he is today. I don't feel like it is a matter of protection like so many opinions here seem to be. The oath says for God and country, and to be morally straight. If a scout or leader makes that promise knowing they are not morally straight (and that includes any other sin you find listed with homosexuality found in the book of Romans) then they are breaking that promise. We as Christians are to love the sinner not the sin and we are to practice forbearance (patience). To truly protect your child (scout) you have to be an active parent volunteer in your son's scouting program and you have to openly and honestly teach them how to protect themselves.

Hell, allowing gay people back might make me try to get my son back involved.

Tolerance is a good thing but when the progressives infiltrate the hierarchy and attempt to pass the G & L lifestyle off as normal, that's where I draw the line.

What's really scary is that they want to teach our kids that stuff. Kids, who are naive, vulnerable and impressionable and are not well informed.

Therein is the real issue,,,,trying to sway our Youth as being a naomal lifestyle....

As a parent, I'm responsible for my child's well being .... no way would I take the chance and allow him to be on weekend camping trips knowing the leaders were gay ... no way .. not anymore than I would allow him to be on weekend camping trips with a known child molester ....
My child ... my decision .... feel free to decide differently for your children ... your choice to chance it ...

F-CK NO! I'm gonna let my son go out with another boy who may be bigger stronger and interested in him, so he'll have his way with my son. Now I don't hate gays but if that ever happend I'd be more than happy to serve time in prison over some kid wanting his way with my son during a camping trip!

you do realize that there have been gay kids and leaders in scouts since day 1, right? right now, at this very moment, gay kids and straight kids are on campouts, being supervised by gay and straight leaders, maybe even sharing tents with them. and the incidents of sexual abuse are staggering.....no, wait. i'm thinking about the catholic church, sorry.

You can chose to Put YOUR son in that Situation, but, you have No Right to put mine in it...

no one is choosing for you to put your child in any organization you don't want them in. if the boy scouts decide to end their discrimination and you have kids in scouts, you either accept it or you take them out. the choice is yours, not mine.

The only reason gay people don't want to come out is because of people like the ones on here, so full of hatred and bigotry. I'm not at all excusing molestation, it's sick and twisted and whoever does it should go to you know where, but I honestly think there would be a decrease in it if people weren't such hate filled a**hats and accepted people for who they were and gave everyone equal and respect.

Also, it further pisses me off when people say that only gay people molest children. So I guess straight people never do anything like that?

Gay people aren't walking up to you and trying to force the "gay lifestyle" on you, they just want equal rights for themselves, it's like slavery. First of all, that's incorrect- IT'S NOT A LIFE CHOICE. Get it through your thick skull, all of you. Don't you think that if they could, they would chose to be straight and avoid all of the hate that comes to them from idiots?

And secondly, take that photo down, it's not funny. I know someone who actually does get seizures from stuff like that. They banned TV shows because the flashing lights caused hundreds of kids to have seizures. I could have a medical condition, you don't know.
