If Ron Paul is a Libertarian, then why isn't he at their Las Vegas convention this weekend?

The Libertarian
Party holds their 2012 National Convention in Las Vegas this weekend,
where they will choose their Presidential nominee.

The party is celebrating their 40th anniversary at this year's convention, themed "Liberty Will Win."

The Libertarian
Presidential candidates will debate each other on Friday night, before a
nominee is selected on Saturday. Former New Mexico Gov. and Republican
Presidential candidate Gary Johnson is expected to be that nominee. He
will debate Libertarian activist Lee Wrights. To take part in the
debate, candidates had to receive at least 10% of support from
convention delegates.

The candidates will make speeches on Saturday to convention delegates, who will then vote to choose the nominee.

I'm curious. Perhaps someone could help shed some light on this subject for me.

You!

Because he is currently registered as a Republican. Why is Romney registered a Republican when he used to be registered a Democrat?

Who cares what he is other than a patriot loyal to the Constitution. As long as he stands by the people and the Constitution I don't care if he calls himself a Democrat or a Nazi. A word does not change what he believes. I'd rather have him doing whatever he can to spread liberty other than pledging allegiance to a group no matter what.

I don't think he stands a chance myself, but he does. So I'm sure missing that convention and focusing on the primaries is a far better goal. Not that I think it'll get him anywhere though.

Umm...no. Paul is a libertarian. A branch off of right leaning political belief which makes any run he makes towards office under the republican ticket. He isn't actually republican though.

UM no Paul is a registered Republican.
He works as one and has been elected as one many times. He has a Libertarian ideology ,as many of us do and as far as I am aware he has also run for president in the Libertarian party.

So...what your telling me...is that he's a libertarian...acting as a republican...and running as a republican....while ignoring republican ideals for libertarian ones. Chalk that up as another reason why I wont vote for him. That's shady.

Oh really? Where did you pull up that piece of false information? Now you're sounding like a typical democrat. Lie, lie, lie....deny, deny, deny.

Is it because he won't get enough votes as a Libertarian? Is it because he is officially listed as a Republican? Hell, I can't figure him out!
