If Ron Paul does not get the nomination at Tampa......

Teri- Oregon 2012/07/19 21:46:43
I'm writing Paul in. I don't care if write ins don't count.
I'm voting for Gary Johnson because he is on all 50 state ballots this year
I'm voting Romney because we need Obama out!
I was never voting Paul, I was always voting Romney.
I was never voting Paul, I was always voting Obama.
I'm voting for another third party candidate.

Actually, if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, I may abstain from voting altogether. He was my last hope for anyone actually *changing* the status quo and bringing our freedoms back through the political means.

If I voted for Obama or Romney, I'd feel like I had blood on my hands. They are both seriously narcissistic individuals - possibly even sociopathic - and I wouldn't trust them to look after my houseplants, let alone my country.

I might vote 3rd party but I find the thought of voting for Johnson to be pretty nauseating if less so than other 2 clowns.

My choice wasn't listed here, so I'll just do a write-in:

I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but I've said all along that if he doesn't get the nomination, I will be supporting Obama this election (notwithstanding some of my fiercer, earlier criticisms of the president, such as his signing of the NDAA and his continuation of the Bush wars and military policies).

Ron Paul brought more liberals and independents into the fold of liberty than any conservative candidate I've seen in my lifetime. He would have enjoyed support from all sides of the aisle, and actually had a mandate with which to implement some of these core policies he's made his trademark; he would likely have taken down the Federal Reserve, Jackson-style -- we've not had a president in my lifetime who has so much as criticized the central banking power...

I realize I'm sort of talking like it's over for Paul, and I hope that's not the case. I'm just very disappointed and am being realistic. If they don't do the right thing and nominate Paul, the Republicans can go straight to hell.

do you guys not see this poll, thus far there are more people who support Ron than Romney. If they all go for Gary Johnson, Romney and Obama will loose. All of you anyone but Obama followers could vote Gary Johnson as well and guarantee we don't get either of the twins in office. You failed on Paul, perhaps its time to think of another strategy because it doesn't look like Romney is going to win.

I hope all of those who seek liberty and Constitutional government would consider him as their choice if Ron Paul is not on the ballot. We need to pool our voting numbers and take down the two-headed globalist party.

The Cause of Liberty must carry on, with or without Dr. Paul. We have been preparing for such a time as this. We can no longer be ignored. We are the THOUSANDS you saw at the rallies. We are the MILLIONS on the internet, across this great land who the media hides. Ron Paul is the messenger.
    Liberty is the message.

I'll likely vote for Gary Johnson in this instance, since he's as good as or better than both major candidates on virtually every issue, barring divisive moral wedge issues: He's a compromise, but it's a compromise that just means going in the right direction slower, rather than trading a potential government reduction in one area for definite expansion in another (like the major party candidates have guaranteed for decades). He has no real chance of winning, but I suppose that gradually adding to the credibility of third parties is better than a write-in vote not being counted. I still don't give my moral consent to be ruled by the election's victor though.

no I do get it, its that people like you are stuck on the "two" party system think that "a vote not for 'blah' is a vote for 'eww'" even though neither of them are getting the vote, which happens on both sides of the "two" parties....and they also usually go with the whole "vote for lesser of two evils, don't vote for what's seems actually correct"

I'd prefer an undecided option. It really depends on whether Paul goes 3rd party or not (likely not, based on the way the system is and he already said he has no intentions of doing so), and who I get to research and who they turn out to be. I guess people like Johnson are ok, but I need time to vet him myself.

Not voting is just as bad as voting for Obama or Romney. It is our obligation to vote for a good person whether or not that good person has any chance of winning or not.

I respect that position, and there was a time when I agreed with it.

But I am increasingly beginning to feel like this entire system of elections is designed to conceal the fact that government is just a pack of gangsters, and they'll do whatever they want anyway. They give us illusory democracy and voting to pacify us and make us think we actually have an impact on directing their criminal enterprise, but of all of the choices they give us, all of them are simply new masters we can pick for ourselves. They never give us the choice of not having any masters at all.

It would almost be better if we would stop giving our tacit approval to what these people are doing. If, for once, we refused to participate in their shallow pageantry, maybe people would actually start to see the "gun in the room" and know the State for what it really is. Probably not, but I keep hoping....

But isn't it at least better to vote for someone like Gary Johnson than not vote at all? The more votes for someone good, the more it will at least show that people are dissatisfied with the person who is likely going to win.

Thank you. Low voter numbers is simply swept under the rug as voter apathy. Don't expect a report across the propaganda stations saying people are opting out of the voting system to protest tyranny.
