It was actually the Supreme Court's ruling that I cited that opened the floodgates for corporations and special interests to pour money into US elections. essentially drowning out the voices of average Americans.

If you recall, it was our current administration that tried to limit corporate donations while still allowing unions to donate freeely.
That's why it went to the supreme court.
