I wish that at this point we could peacefully go our separate ways. However, geographically it is impossible. It is not a division between North and South, or East and West, but largely between rural and metropolitan areas. People in the large population centers tend to be democrat, and those more country oriented tend to be republican now. Also, the west coast and east coast states control much of the voting block.

I wish we could draw the lines and have both sides happy with the government they have chosen. The left could have thier socialism at the cost of individual liberties. They could do away with capitalism and the notion that with hard work anyone could achieve anything. They can accept national healthcare and tax the rich out of existence. The right could preserve the way of life our constitution gave us, and cherish our roots and foundations, and put our faith in people and not the greedy power seeking government.

I am afraid I do not understand the question, but I do understand OUR COUNTRY IS FREE! & I want it to stay that way & COMMUNISIM& SOCIALISM ,both are NOT a democracy they are run by a DICTATOR. Our country may not be perfect but so much better than others "ask any person from a foreign country that excaped here,"My own
ancestors were from a different country as most where, they excaped here to earn their own living & not have EVERYTHING given to dictatorships & live under common rule.
We do have people that live on welfare & food stamps & government subsities but WE pay for them & if government takes care of all ,we will all be in that same position.Social Security may not be much but thats YOUR MONEY,Government has had control of it since the CLINTON years.

If you work SS is taken out of your check and you pay on every dollar you make. When you retire you will get back about 75 cents of that same dollar you gave them. Not a very good return on our hard earned money is it. What some people do not know is, your employer has to match your social security. If you make 400.00 a week you will pay 22.40 into SS...and your employer has to pay 22.40 also. The government is getting 44.80 a week from you and your employer. It's nothing but a rip off. Just imagine what the big corporations such as GE have to pay out each month.

What da hell is socialism? America has gone crazy. I guess if Fox News said "Obama is trying to teach us to be nice, we can't have that." Most a-holes would go right along with them.

I'd press for Articles of Impeachment for violating the Oath of Office to Defend the Constitution, but might offer a Mediterranean Island (formerly known as Greece) where he and his cronies can continue their failed experiments without harming Americans further.

If I can't live in a sovereign nation, then I would prefer to at least live in a sovereign state.
Praying we don't have another "Civil War" over states' rights. Hopefully, now many of you are seeing what the south fought the North for.

The bad thing about that, however, is, liberals who love socialism and want Oblahblah's agenda live in every state in the Union, therefore, it would be pretty hard to have states doing their own thing when the liberals are living there. Hope this makes sense, lots of crap going on right now-tto much stimuli and distractions.

Hooray. A question that offers an alternative option. The salient point I'd make is that, THIS man is not going to be given an opportunity to continue those particular beliefs, so....to be it's a moot point. I believe he's a one term President. Period. I don't deal in "what if's"

The Constitution allows for states to secede. Also for states to nullify federal laws that the states find oppressive or wrong.

With the Army scattered hither and yon, this might be the perfect time to do it. But it means raising a militia right away.

Question asks "IF"???!!!!! There can be no doubt! ZeroCare alone is the largest piece of socialism and force ever proposed in America. Now be warned, it was not Obama alone - it was a majority of Congress along with him!

Secession may be the best of few options available. IF "America" is to be reassembled some day in the future, I suggest we start with some fresh thinking, by NOT creating another all-powerful federal government:

I never thought this way until Obama SUED the sovereign sate of Arizona over their JUSTIFIED policies toward illegals.

With Obama now bypassing Congress time and time again with "executive orders," perhaps were are headed for a dictatorship faster than we realize.

I don't want the country to break up, but I can't see how we aren't facing the same issues Greece is- States are- and how the rest of the country who is being responsible is going to keep funding their ignorance over how to keep government funded. It's a real possibility I think- especially if Obama keeps disregarding the balance of power that was put in place as a contract, to ensure States would have a say in things. Obama is breaking the right of States to "peacefully protest" at the legislative level, at the direction of their voters.

The States should already be separating regardless of who is in the oval!!! The Founding Fathers never ever intended for a corporation government to have to much control over the people and they never even imagined the existence of a place known as Washington DC.

Not willing to give away one square inch of United States territory to communist / socialist / progressives. The Socialist / progressive movement is a cancer on the world that is never satisfied . It relentlessly feeds on nation after nation until they collapse.

The entire federal government is represented by 525 people , remove that number and elect believers in the Constitution as written. Have them repeal the socialist laws and restart the process for another 200+ years .
First step is this November to remove Obama and as many of the socialist as possible in the congress , state and local government .

Best way to accomplish that is to vote out EVERY incumbent.

We desperately need new blood who do not "understand how Washington works." Washington presently is driven by mega-dollars dumped by lobbyists into Congressional pockets. Lobbying should become a felony punishable by life imprisonment -- or even harsher penalties.

I agree with you , vote them all out, down to the local dog catcher .

Lobbyist are of little concern . The people who accept money , trips and gifts over the good of the country and the nation , are the greater concern .
