Take 100% from those making over $1Miilion, and you still can't keep up with expenditures. The only thing such action would bring about is an exodus of the job providers.

Personally, I believe everyone should contribute to the national coffer. It is amazing the difference in attitude when someone has some skin in the game.

He helped us with the Harp 2.0 refinance! We were able to refinance our home at 2% lower interest rate, save 40,000 bucks on interest plus knock off 5 years on the mortgage! And so I trust him and believe he has good ideas! We were never late on our mortgage. We weren't out there living wrecklessly trying to live beyond our means! We are the middle class, working hard paying our bills, trying to help our kids get through college!

Low interest rates means stealing from people who wish to save their money.

And the federal government's budget will only sink the middle class, and this country by drowning us in debt. We will never pay as long as the government keeps spending the way it is.

The economy has been turning around. We are NOT losing 750,000 jobs monthly. We've gone from negative job growth to positive job growth. Any economist worth his salt will tell you (and they have) that it takes 5-10 years to recover from the catastrophe our economy experienced. Do you really wanna go back to the policies that got us in this mess to begin with?

Do you really think that that is what Romney would do? Turn the train around and run it back into a hole? The country is at a financial breaking point and fundamental changes in the way this country operates need to be made. Barack Obama is not going to do it.
Put aside partisan politics and ask yourself as I have, can the country go another four years of continued social divide and a stagnant government. Since I and you can not fire the whole or even a majority of Congress something needs to be changed. If you're satisfied with the current state of affairs, then by all means support the candidate of your choice.

Yes I do because he wants to make the Bush tax cuts PERMANENT. Doxie, leaving partisan politics aside I will gladly respond. The division did not start with Barack Obama, it started initially when Newt Gingrinch headed GOPac. Certain "buzz" words were used to identify people they wanted to demonize. After Newt was kicked to the curb Frank Luntz carried it further.

Why do you think John Boehner & the rest of the Republicans only use the words "Job Creators" when the subject of taxes comes up? They say if you increase taxes the "Job Creators" won't be able to "afford" to create jobs. If that was true than how come so many jobs were created when Bill Clinton had a slightly higher tax rate? Since Bush signed the tax cuts the only jobs that have been created are in Asia, NOT America.

Yes, we need systemic changes in this country. David Stockman recently went so far as to say in an interview that Reaganomics has been disastrous to this country. He was Reagan's Budget Director. We can't cut our way to prosperity. We need increased revenues. Unfortunately every Republican on Capitol Hill has signed Grover Norquists "No Tax Increase" pledge.

Do you know that President Obama has gone so far as to say he would support a lowering of the corporate rate IF ALL loopholes were closed?...

Do you know that President Obama has gone so far as to say he would support a lowering of the corporate rate IF ALL loopholes were closed? The Republicans won't even go for that. The reason why is because Mitch McConnell said as soon as Obama won the election that his #1 priority was to make Obama a 1-term president. The economy is stagnant because they have stonewalled every proposal to get the economy in better shape.

Didn't Bush allow Laissez-faire economics to reign during his 8 years? I do blame Clinton for the dismantling of Glass-Steagall that allowed big banks to gamble like there was no tomorrow & get "too big too fail."

I don't know where you are getting 6 years from. If you think Romney is gonna make things better, you've got another think coming. Romney is gonna be a puppet president for the power players that have been bought off in Congress.

    "The poor didn't improve"
..A worker in 1900 labored 2 hours & 40 minutes to earn the cost of a 3 pound chicken; in 1999 a mere 24 minutes of toil could buy him the bird.
..In 1950, typical workers put in more than 2 hours to afford 100 kilowatts of electricity; by 1999, the cost had dropped to 14 minutes.

    "the middle class lost more"
..Really!? The Median income group in 1967 had an income of $8,303. By 2010 the same group had an income of $61,735. Hardly losing ground! Even accounting for inflation is still more income by some $8,126 or nearly a years pay from 1967.
..The only tent cities I have seen belong to OWS, they don't really count. Jobs moved to China? Want them to come home? Get your Congress critters to support the FairTax.

I think you've got that a bit backwards. Many in the middle class are beginning to experience how it is to feel poor. There are many people who work full time shifts at minimum wage who don't make enough to rent an apartment. That's before you equate food, utilities, Traveling expenses etc.
If my understanding of economics is weak, yours is on life support.

Feel "poor"!?!? Hell growing up I felt "poor". Turns out my family was far from "poor", we just didn't have much "stuff".

"The following are facts about persons defined as “poor” by the Census Bureau, taken from a variety of government reports:

46 percent of all poor households actually own their own homes. The average home owned by persons classified as poor by the Census Bureau is a three-bedroom house with one-and-a-half baths, a garage, and a porch or patio.

80 percent of poor households have air conditioning. By contrast, in 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.

Only six percent of poor households are overcrowded; two thirds have more than two rooms per person.

The typical poor American has more living space than the average individual living in Paris, London, Vienna, Athens, and other cities throughout Europe. (These comparisons are to the average citizens in foreign countries, not to those classified as poor.)

Nearly three quarters of poor households own a car; 31 percent own two or more cars.

97 percent of poor households have a color television; over half own two or more color televisions.

78 percent have a VCR or DVD player.

As a group, America’s poor are far from being chronically undernourished. The average consumption of protein, vitamins, and minerals is virtually the same for poor and middle-class children and, in most cases, is well above recommended norms. Poor children actually consume more meat than do higher-income children and have average protein intakes 100-percent above recommended levels. Most poor children today are, in fact, super-nourished and grow up to be, on average, one inch taller and ten pounds heavier than the GIs who stormed the beaches of Normandy in World War II."

Before you go parroting Fox News Talking points. Do you know anyone who is poor? Do you know anyone who works 10-12 hours a day just to keep themselves in a 2 bedroom apartment. Do you know someone who doesn't have a DVR, Air Conditioner, Microwave, Dishwasher, Car, etc. Or are you just regurgitating "Facts" from those who have no clue what happens outside of their gated communities?
