I have no doubt that they would. They are apparently testing the waters to see what BO will do with all their BS lately.

I, for one, would not like to test this theory at all. But I have to admit that the mindset is there. And they really, really hate Israel. And they haven't been exactly role models for love of humanity; i.e., the Iran hostages of yesteryear; the Pearl beheading on videotape and so on and so forth. So why wouldn't they drop the bomb and get their biggest headache "cured" in one fell swoop? I don't know, I'm just trying to get into the minds of insane nut cases here. Please tell me I'm all wrong!

When cornered, the Israeli government has to admit that the threat to "wipe Israel off the map" was a lie and is still believed by the Zionist patsies.

I don't think it would be in their best interest to use it but they definitely want it because who invades a nuclear armed country?

Actually they are peaceful people and have signed the "Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons". Don't believe the propaganda, I have several Iranian friends.

OMG, all the yes votes are just..... So you think Iran will use it if so Iran`s leaders must have a death wish, but if world war 3 was to be we humans would deserve to be wiped out of the face of the Earth. The One Nation that got rid of it`s kings and gave true freedom to it`s people, the same people who have voted time and time again for presidents who have
taken our personal freedoms slowly but surly and in time we will have none left.
    NO ONE But Ron Paul!!

Why can we not accept the explanation that they are developing nuclear power.

Every nation that has the bomb understands its a no win situation.

Need a hell of a lot more than one nuke to start a nuclear war. They are surrounded by thousands of nukes.

The logic of the fear monger says they wont even have the patience to wait for more after they get "one".
The title says "the bomb" not "a nuclear arsenal"

On who?? It's extremely unlikely. Having nuclear arms has been more of a deterrant than a threat for 70 years.

Iran's leaders may be many things, but stupid isn't one of them. To date, No one has been able to conclusively prove Iran is actually enriching uranium into enough of a concentration to provide a viable, explodable core for any weapon or are engaged in high explosive or Krytron research needed to start the nuclear chain reaction. Additionally, Iran IS a signatory nation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and is under an IAEA inspection mandate. Conversely, the one nation who is rattling the Iran war saber the Loudest, Israel, has between 2-300 ACTUAL nuclear weapons, a weapons construction factory at Dimona in the Negev as revealed by Mordechai Vanunu, Has NEVER signed the NPT and refuses to grant IAEA inspectors access to examine their nuclear weapons program. Indeed, they DENY that such a program exists despite ALL the published information confirming it.

No. but I think actual EXPERIENCE AS a Member of Nuclear Weapons handling teams and a battle station where I was actually tasked to LAUNCH nuclear weapons gives me a modicum of insight and knowledge on this issue. Actually having VISITED Bandar Abbas, Iran on the Hormuz Straits in 1974 and seeing with my own eyes how easy it would be to close was another side benefit.

Links Gary, LINKS. If I am to give this story ANY shred of credibility, I need to be able to research it MYSELF, compare what's reported and contrast it with what I know. When it comes to nucweps issues, I'm not doctrinaire. I give GHW Bush Full credit for taking charge of the Kazakh portion of the Soviet nuclear arsenal back in 1990 after the Soviet implosion. If you have any reservations about me, read what I wrote here about the Minot-Barksdale loose nukes incident.

There is a strong possibility they would use it on Israel but who knows. The younger population in Iran is turning more secular and they like America. The older Iranians are more religious/extremists so they are the ones to keep an eye on. I would not trust Iran with a nuke so close to Israel. God forbid Israel got hit, that would be the tragedy of the century. Its not a good idea to allow these religious extremists to have a nuke, they are unstable and hate Jews and Christians a great deal. Its Israel that is at risk, so I would not take the risk, I think a strategic strike would be the smart option. Of course a peaceful diplomatic verbal approach should be exhausted first before a military strike.
