You!

Iran strongly opposes the US military presence in the Persian Gulf. The US strongly opposes Iran's continued nuclear program and open hatred of Israel. The tension between these three countries is palpable. If Iran ever acted against Israel who would you want in charge of the United States?

Ron Paul - If Iran attacked Israel, Israel would bomb them out of existence. If Ron Paul were president, he would not get in Israel's way or get involved with them.

Barack Obama coming to Israel's "rescue"? Hardly.

The irony of it all. I was shocked--nonplussed for a moment on hearing news that there are Jews actually prepared to vote for Obama! What prevails in the voting mindset of these individuals escapes me. Is it intellectual high-mindedness? Is it the very name “McCain” that falls heavy on the Jewish ear?

A liberal Jewish friend recently told me that he’s voting for Obama. Okay. "But how does that square with your abiding concerns for Israel these many years?" I asked him. “Yeah, well, . . . ” his voice trails off, then suddenly returns, bemoaning, “. . . but this guy McCain: he’s so old, befuddled; Obama at least is young and fresh,” he declares. Then, he sums up sotto voce: “and–come on–you and I know how black people suffered here . . .” So it went.

Once upon a time, Israel’s right to exist in peace was a vital political litmus test for the Jewish community. For millions of Americans, John McCain, his shortcomings notwithstanding, appears to be the more likely Commander in Chief who would actively respond, should the cat jump in the Middle East. And jump it will, sooner than later.

No amount of Hollywood or politically tendentious media histrionics can alter the reality that we stand squarely at a very deadly crossroad. You h...

No amount of Hollywood or politically tendentious media histrionics can alter the reality that we stand squarely at a very deadly crossroad. You have only to watch and listen to radical Islamists and to Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Ruling over a country that is just about to go nuclear, Ahmadinejad effectively demonstrates for our time what Hitler said to Germany during his late 1930s run-up to launching war in Europe . Speaking of himself in the third-person, with the smirk not unlike the grin we see on the bearded Ahmadinejad, The Fuehrer addresses thousands of rallied Nazis about how Europe is wondering whether he will make war. “Er kommt,” he tells them openly, nodding and emphasizing the point with his wagging index finger. “Er kommt.” [”He is coming.”]

Rest assured an Obama or Clinton presidency, with a Chamberlain predisposition, will further embolden America’s enemies the world over. Indeed, they already walk and live among us, and more continue to seep in. The Israelis in particular will be in for the ultimate fight of their lives. The searing question is, will they find a real friend answering the White House phone and taking action at, say, 3:00 A.M.? The answer is not moot. For all American Jews who would help put Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office, a reality check is in order. Perhaps they might start by watching Claude Lanzmann’s “Shoa.”

Just read your post. ". . . they [Iran] will not be attacking Israel"?

Arleen, Arleen, many Americans were thinking the same of the Japanese before 7 December, 1941.

You might also remind family and friends that the very day after Israel became a state in 1948, seven Arab armies attacked her, attempting to throw Israel into the unparted sea. SEVEN armies . . . and they weren't on chariots.

On a lesser, but no less deadly scale, Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Quadea, the Taliban, Syria, Iran (Syria's chief funder, arms and missile supplier, direct controller of Hezbollah through the Iranian National Guard, and nascent nuclear antagonist)--all continue the 60-year pursuit to destroy Israel and its people.

Does anyone really believe Barack Hussein Obama--the young, junior senator from Chicago, with no international experience, and of questionable affiliations and socio-political views of America--has the skills and mettle to meet the assaults we and future generations will suffer?

Apparently, many American Jews believe so; but why that's so remains inexplicable, particularly now that it’s so short a road from Beersheba, Israel, to Boro Park, Brooklyn, and to all American cities and towns beyond.

Although the stakes do not look too good for Hillary right now, she would be my first choice because she has proven herself to be a leader. I would not pick Obama because I do not feel he'd make a good president at all. So my second choice would have to be McCain. My major concern would be/Israel or oil! How would the Chief in Command view it.

I did pay attention in history, however difficult that was seeing as I'm Canadian and we happen to have a terribly boring history. I'll admit to not knowing very much about American history, but I just don't see the point of violence is all, so no need to get so testy.

President Lincoln won the Civil War - no military experience.

FDR and Truman won WWII - no military experience.

McCains military experience doesnt really make him a good military leader.

If military experience made a Prez a good leader, "W" would have won the Iraq in a week. And I think we all know how this war will end out.

i think they are all three liars, i wouldnt beleive anything any of them said. But ive never been one to jump in line with the rest. If anyone attacks another country it will probly be america doing the attacking anyway. We love to kill people, and are good at fabricating facts, and manipulating statistics to suport the idea that murder is aceptable. just another way to profess our superiority. But when you consider the curent instability of all of the middle east, and the fragility of the world in general,Maby we need a POTUS that is ready to put us in ww3. It seems we are on a direct course of selfdestruction anyway. It might be time to let evolution try again. Should we be affraid to push the button?

we see what happens when we wait too long: the two world wars,
millions dead, entire countries in rubble. better to get there first
and minimize the devastation. the reality is there are bad people in

McCain is apparently a confused and desperately needy madman, with a notorious quick trigger. Clinton has announced that if Iran bombs Israel she would obliterate Iran. And she claims to be a Christian. Hey, Hillary, meet Jesus! Obama has a steady head and calm nature, along with a find mind and, having taught it it university, an excellent handle on constitutional law.
